While not a lot is known yet about where the ,i>Fantastic Four reboot will go, some interesting news just dropped on the film. Fox's Marvel movie consultant Mark Millar has just tweeted that Matthew Vaughn will be producing the movie. Vaughn is no stranger to Fox's Marvel movies or Millar, having directed both X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass.

Vaughn joins the movie in which Josh Trank is on board to direct. Millar has praised Trank for his work on the movie Chronicle, and says that Trank has a contemporary take for the Fantastic Four. As of right now the Fantastic Four reboot is scheduled to hit theaters on March 15, 2015.

So he'll help out with casting and scouting locations? I really don't understand what he'll be doing as a producer... is he putting money down? And... is Millar [frick]ing doing anything as "consultant"? He acts more like a spokesperson. Just read Ultimate Fantastic Four if you need Millar's help. I think Trank and his writer will do fine on their own. Vaughn doesn't even really give a shit about Marvel Comics anyway, why don't he just stick with his Millarworld adaptations.

Out of all the marvel properties that belong to fox and Sony, I want the FF to revert to marvel studios the most. Mostly because out of Spider-Man, X-Men and the FF, the FF have much bigger role within the marvel universe, whereas spidey is a loner and only really crosses over with the FF from time to time and other loners like daredevil. And the x-men have they're own little pocket universe, that very rarely crosses over with anything outside of mutant related events.

i have never cared about the F4 and i never will. they've always seemed out of place at Marvel to me. i think DC and Marvel should have a trade and offer F4 for one of thier properties.

but with that said, they do have some iconic villains.

Since this isn't going back to Marvel, if they want to really get me excited about this-I want to hear that they've had long discussions with Jonathan Hickman about the F4 reboot.

fantastic four should have big screen movies that we can love & cherish not ones that should be put in the rubbish bin.

base it on hickman's run & you won't go wrong.

Absolutely @marvel72. Before Disney bought Star Wars, my dream scenario was for them to buy Fantastic Four and make that be their resident space adventure franchise. They deserve better treatment, George Lucas would agree... it was his inspiration. And, yes! Hickman's run is beyond superb. He did amazing things with Reed, made him less boring and less robotic.

I don't like the FF, but they have a great director (well, I'm only basing that off one movie but still) and a great producer on board..so let's see.

"FF out of place at Marvel"...?

I'll take that to mean that you've not read too many Marvel comics.

who wants to see doom AGAIN !!!? [frick] that, there are so many villains in the marvel universe, why do movies like this and spider-man think that the same [frick]ing villain needs to be in every movie !!! Mole Man would be an excellent choice ! anyone BUT Doom will be a great choice!!!
marvel72
marvel72 - 2/22/2013, 12:54 PM
for the fantastic four work in a shared universe they need to reboot the x-men.

you can't have a computer screen in x-men 2 show the name or file "franklin richards" & he doesn't even feature in the fantastic four movies.

@ 95

the fantastic four run by hickman is one of the few runs that i couldn't put down once i started reading it.

the stuff with future franklin & galactus when he brought him back to life was amazing.

@marvel72 when did they actually show Galatcus? lol
I would be fine with him, but actually show him! thats fine, but seriously if I see Doom im gonna snap, maybe in another 3 movies from now bring him back with subtle clues in each one of those and actually building the hype up. IMO thats how it needs to be done. Theres too many great characters and villains not being used and its a shame.

I hope this movie gets stuck in production hell and everybody drops out.

I hope Josh Trank starts both of his Sony movies first that he is already signed on to do the 'Venom' spin off and 'Shadow of Colossus'.

I agree with LEVITIKUZ.

@blackandyellow The only time I heard Annihilus being brought up in film rights discussion, the character was rumored to be the villains for the third Tim Story film. I believe the writers said they already had some ideas jotted down. So, with that, I'd say Fox owns Annihilus.
