UPDATED:Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish Recently Handed In The Second Draft Of The Ant-Man Script

Perhaps some movement is going on with the ever delayed big screen adaption of Marvel Comic's Ant-Man is happening. At this weekend's Kapow-Con, the script co-writer Joe Cornish let it slip that he and director Edgar Wright have handed in their second draft of the script. UPDATE

It isn't much, but Joe Cornish revealed this weekend at Kapow-Con (Via BLEEDING COOL) that he and Edgar Wright recently handed in the second draft of their script for Ant-Man. Here is an excerpt from BLEEDING COOL's report:

Speaking this afternoon at Kapow, Joe Cornish has revealed that he and Edgar Wright delivered the “second draft” of Ant Man just two days ago. That’s one more hurdle jumped – or if I know Wright and Cornish, leapt.

Ant-Man will be directed by Edgar Wright, but currently has n release date or actors signed on for any roles. We can most likely expect Ant-Man news some time after Marvel Studio's big superhero team up movie, The Avengers.

UPDATE:When asked by BLEEDING COOL'S Brendon Connelly if the story was based of any comic arcs, specifically Robert Kirkman's Ireedemable Ant-Man, Cornish replied with definitely not.

It's going to be really hard for me to get into this movie due to them not appearing in the Avengers.

Seriously? What's so hard about him appearing in the Avengers? That would account for the creation of Ultron. The Avengers most dangerous villain.

believe me,they'll just make him have a cameo in the end of the avengers. Like every other Marvel films.

Im a huge comics fan but I dont see how this can made into live action. All of the shrinking and growing could come off like 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids'. I just want them to do it right.

Hank Pym was mentioned in the Thor script,sooo...
mention in Thor, cameo in Avengers, solo movie and member of the team for Avengers 2!
I would go this way:
2013: Iron Man 3
2014:Ant-Man and Black Panther movies (we need the Black Panther too :P)
2015: Avengers 2,team fully assembled (Iron Man,Thor,Cap,Hulk,Ant-Man,Black Panther,Hawkeye and Wasp, who could be introduced in the Ant-Man film itself)

That's a great fan poster that someone made. Actually, after seeing that poster, this movie seems plausible to me now; why is it that humans can interact with horses, dogs, cats, etc.? It's only because we are all on the same size to interact with each other. Maybe ants, bees, and ladybugs could all easily be domesticated or trainable if we were just on their size level.

That is a really good banner for ANT-MAN ^ up there by the way. I totally agree with StrangerX, The Avengers should of been the prime place to introduce Hank, and Janet. They're the prime memebers. I think it's the reason for the too many characters card. Um, think LOTR: Fellowship of the Rings. Sure it was three hours, but every character had it's due in that single part. I think Ruffalo should be switched to Hank in Avengers, I would care less, find an actress for Janet, and kiss Norton's ass for Bruce Banner. Problem solved.

I agree with mrAnonymous, sharlto copley is the perfect actor to play ant man

@Drykillogic22 - Well, my life is changed. Thank you sooo much for coming in here and tactlessly enlightening us all about Ant-Man's lack of popularity amongst massive douchers. You really couldn't find another way to boost your tragically low self esteem? Were your bros not down for your Saturday plans to go beat up someone different before an all day marathon of Jersey Shore? Frankly, I can't think of a better way to spend my undeserved down time, but definitely feel free to take advantage of my affinity for Ant-Man. So what if I'm an easy target, right? I mean, what good ever came from being respectable? Right?! Yea, you know what I'm talkin' about. lol Good grief..

Is there a larger version of that Skinny Glasses banner that I could download? Because that is effing awesome.

I like Ant-Man, but if anybody else were writing this I'd be pretty pessimistic. Edgar Wright can do no wrong, though. (See what I did there?)

I wouldn't mind a couple of pollmaster's articles done on Ant-Man and his villains because I don't know a whole lot about him except from what I've read from different comic sites about his background. It is hard for me to picture a movie about a guy shrinking. Though, maybe this could be a way for them to get some cool visual effects of small things on a larger scale. Hope it goes well as I always look forward to see new characters make it to the big screen.

I agree with the Hank Pym cameo in the Avengers, but it's still pretty [frick]ed up that he and Wasp aren't going to be apart of the original team, but Cap, Hawkeye, and Black Widow are.

Hopefully a december 2012 or summer 2013 release. Egghead should be the main villain with Whirlwind as his henchman and there should be a setup for Ultron so he can appear in Avengers 2.

a little late dont you think? ant man and wasp need and deserve to be in the avengers movie (considering they are the founding members) but i guess it makes sense considering its really an "ultimates" movie

a team up movie would work better, the astonishing ant man & the wonderful wasp.

@ soberchimera61

i agree with the ultron avengers 2 set up,that way you can introduce vision, wonder man & maybe the scarlett witch for the avengers sequel.
