In Pacific Rim, legions of monstrous creatures known as Kaiju started rising from the sea and begin a war that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. Under the direction of Guillermo Del Toro, and starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Rinko Kikuchi, the movie is set to be released on July 12, 2013.

mc7791 - 7/7/2012, 10:19 AM
wow that is massive. I thought in one of the original descriptions that the Jaegers were only 25 feet tall. That thing is way beyond even 25 meters tall. Hmmm since 2 of the cast members are from Sons of Anarchy I wonder if we will see them riding some bikes or see one with a Harley Davidson decal on his Jaeger operator uniform. Too bad we will only get a description of footage if there is any. Anyone know if filming had begun?

On principle this movie has to be seen. It's too cool NOT to. I don't care if you call it Voltron Lite or Wannabe Gundam it's giant robots fighting giant monsters. I'm sold. If it ends up sucking, I'll deal with it then.
