Peter Jackson Confirms That THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES Teaser Is Coming

These movies have been disappointing, but they seem to keep stealing money from my wallet.

I've been loving the Hobbit movies so far, and I'm really, REALLY looking forward to seeing this battle on the big screen.

Besides they really struck gold with the cast of LotR. Viggo Mortensen really carries that entire trilogy, by far most compelling character.

I was let down severely by the first one, the second one was a little better, and i have high hopes for this one.

Not legendary like the LOTR trilogy was though

So after the first two movies being absolutely terrible pieces of crap I am suppose to watch another movie with comical dwarves running away for another movie no thanks Mr. Jackson you can follow your credibility and just leave.

The only issue is Jackson spends so much of the movie elbowing the audience telling us "Hey remember the LOTR movies this is connected to it." yet he makes the world so unbelievably cartoony and stupid. Case in point Bombur barrel madness mini game smack dab in the middle of Desolation of Smaug.

I genuinely think this is for the better. Why releasing a trailer soon with VFX shots that aren't even close to being done? That's not gonna draw people into theaters.

I'm all in for the teaser trailer. I think the first trailers of AUJ/DOS both showed too much from the get go. Besides, getting an actual teaser trailer for this instead of a full blown trailer right away helps with me wanting to watch as few material as possible before seeing the film in IMAX.

Since I've read the book and already was too much into the trailers for the previous films and easily could fill everything in. It's that I know what's going to happen I'd rather be kept in the dark about how PJ is going to bring it to live rather than already knowing that too. Trailers can give away A LOT of a film and even though I was still entertained with the previous two (especially regarding Smaug, since they couldn't show a whole lot of him in the marketing) I think it would've been nicer if I either had only seen one trailer or none at all in advance.

So, knowing (i.e. highly likely that it is) that the first trailer is going to be an actual teaser trailer, I'll watch it. Hopefully it's exciting and interesting enough before the full marketing for this kicks in around October. I really can't wait for this to come out! I'm sure I'm going to the Hobbit Marathon in my local IMAX theater with a friend of mine, can't wait!!!!!!

@AlexanderLykins Agree. Rest has been good. Although theres several scenes in Iron Man 2 I enjoy, especially after Iron Disaster 3.

The opening was strong + checking the blood toxicity off stage.
Howard Stark storyline and him watching the tapes.
Inventing a new element and upgrading the suit
The suitcase armor / Monaco
Donutshop /w Fury

That all felt very much in line with the first movie. It's the rest that made it suck.

Too many cheap gags and bad jokes. Bad villain (Hammer gets excused). Party scene was obnoxious. Rhodey recast took me out of the movie.

I think Favreau should have gotten the benefit of the doubt here, it was obviously not his fault. They rushed it.

Enjoyed the last 2 movies. Bring it on, dammit.

The problem with the Hobbit movies is that the visual effects are too ridiculous and not serving the story enough. In LotR the VFX were unobtrusive and really served the story being told.

Best example is the barrel/river scene. Too ridiculous.

Battle of the Five Armies is one of my favorite parts of The Hobbit story, so I am looking forward to this one! The first was just alright, but I really enjoyed the last one.

Awe, Peter Jackson is hobbit sized.

Hopefully, it has less CGI than the last one did.
