It's been revealed this evening that 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin is in talks to join the cast of Mission: Impossible 5 as the head of the CIA and his role will apparently be similar to that of Lawrence Fishburne's in Mission: Impossible III. The White Queen star Rebecca Ferguson meanwhile has signed up to play an assassin and femme fatale in what is described as the lead female role in the movie, and she will next be seen in Hercules opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. She's a relative unknown, and though Jessica Chastain was in talks at one point, she has dropped out and Cruise and the studio are now very keen on Ferguson. What do you guys think about these latest casting additions? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this news in the usual place!

I'm going out on limb and saying that Alec Baldwin ends up being the villain.

Didn't Alec Baldwin do a racist rant? >.>

Are you kidding me? Paula Patton isn't returning?
Oh c'mon.

That's so sexist. Switch out the lead female role to someone else while keeping the other males back for the sequel, because male audiences will get bored of seeing the same sexy, kick-ass woman two films in a row.

That's all I want to know.

Arrowhead, you must be pretty young if you think Alec Baldwin is anything like the Kardashians. His speech from Glengarry Glen Ross is legendary. He only did one 7 minute scene and was nominated for an Oscar for it.

@CherryBomb

Maybe she's voluntarily staying out of the spotlight due to her husband's unfaithfulness and subsequent apology campaign. I couldn't imagine all the personal questions she'd be bombarded with during press appearances.

Do you even know why she isn't returning Cherry Bomb??

If not then maybe you should refrain from starting a feminist rant. Could be anything from story to contracts to scheduling issues yanno..

@Nickhart

This annoys me so much! This franchise has had interchangeable members for a long time, especially the women, so to finally see Paula Patton who was so memorable (the scene where she's fighting the assassin is still my favourite) grinds my gears. She is one of the few women who has a body that actually looks like she could beat the crap out of anyone.

@Star @Matt

Oh I doubt it, they'll either not mention it or "say" it was scheduling. When they are so quick to sign up Renner and Pegg (who are probably in a higher demand than Paula) or they even signed them to a multi picture deal and left her out.

Either way I'm annoyed BUT happy because Rebecca Ferguson is a very talented woman.

@Star

She's starring in the Warcraft movie which is a huge project to be attatched too, I think the one thing she is focusing on is her career rightt now after that scumbag.

Baldwin is a great character actor. I like this. The Rebecca woman was great in The White Queen.

Baldwin is a god in Glengarry Glen Ross. I don't care about his personal demons, he is a dynamite actor, dramatic and comedic. He's the full package..

Paula Patton shouldn't come back until the next one with simon pegg. i just want to focus on jeremy renner's character. he has more story to show. Paula Patton character just wanted to kill the bitch that killed her boyfriend, the guy everyone wanted for auqaman josh holloway
