“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

I think this will out-gross Transformers 4 to win 2014.

This trilogy is not near as good as LotR but I liked the first and the 2nd was great, let's hope the last one is amazing

Necromancer?

The first two were okay. Jackson should have just trimmed the fat and made one movie rather than 3 bloated ones, but I understand the studio's decision. three of these billion dollar grossing movies is better than one.

Uh oh... Jackson is adding a subplot where Galafriel, Elrond AND Saruman are aiding Gandalf escape his made up imprisonment...

When you say featuring every main character, you mean everybody but most of the dwarves.

Holy balls this looks like its gonna be so good! Glad to ser Saruman helping the rest of the White Council overthrow the Necromancer, I was worried cause of Lee's age they would leave him out.

@BigMikeReviews - its not made up, Jackson is following the appendices pretty accurately here. Yes we dont read about this in the Hobbit, but when Gandalf leaves in the book this is what he goes to do. He meets up with Saruman, Elrond, and Galadriel and defeat Sauron sending him fleeing to Mordor.I for one am glad to see as much of the whole story as I can.

This movie already feels more like LOTR than the last two did! I loved both Hobbit movies so far but I have no doubt this will be the best of the three.

@Super12

I know right, everyone says he is adding more but this was Tolkiens intended vision for the Hobbit when he wrote the Appendicies.

You can really tell the people apart who have actually read his books instead of those who claim they have.

@DaneMendieta

I think Snyder is the type who needs a good script to make use of all his skills. With Watchmen he had great material to work with and he was able to translate it to screen in a pretty good way, its when you don't give him a good script to work with is when he seems to have issues.

Now I really liked Man of Steel, I like it more then any other version of Superman, but that film wouldn't get half the crap it gets these days if it had a tighter script so we wouldn't have to kill each other over certain things over and over in forums.

Its all in the script, even the best directors can only do some much if the script, the foundation of the entire film is terrible.

@super12 & @charlie2094 I stand corrected, I had read both the lord of the rings and the hobbit but had not realized this was actually in the appendices!
