Are We Set To Return To Hoth In STAR WARS EPISODE VII? Ice Planet Confirmed!

While we can't be sure it's Hoth (the iconic ice planet from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back), the action in the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Wars Episode VII will indeed head to snowy location at some point. The source of this news? Sir Roger Moore! Read on for details...

Star Wars 7 News have come across a recent interview with legendary James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, and he confirmed during a chat with the BBC that there will indeed be a ice planet in Star Wars Episode VII! There were rumblings back in May that the movie might return to Hoth, and while this still hasn't been confirmed, it certainly seems likely now (though just as likely is that Abrams will be taking us to new planets, albeit with a similar terrain to Hoth).

Roger Moore: Anyway, the day before last, I know we stopped by the office, and I went up to see – on a very closed, secret set – my friend J. J. Abrams, who is directing Star Wars.

BBC: Ooh, wow!

Moore: With Harrison Ford.

BBC: So, what were they filming that day? Can you tell me?

Moore: Well, yes! They were filming something with a lot of mountains and snow.

Between sticking a Batmobile on the Millennium Falcon, putting an emphasis on practical effects and bringing back some redesigned X-Wings, Star Wars Episode VII seems to be in very good hands with J.J. Abrams, and with Tatooine - or a planet very similar - also confirmed, there's a lot to look forward to in this movie! What do you guys think about this latest reveal?

Because now editors couldn't give half a shit about putting spoilers in the headlines.

Thanks a million-

"Strikes Back" is the best out of the franchise. Take us back to the snow.

Not necessarily Hoth. I never thought of Hoth as "mountainous". Just an icy tundra.

An ice planet in a Star Wars movie? What a HUUUGE spoiler! Guess what, there will be spaceships and lightsabers in Episode VII too. Dammit, now there's really no point even watching the movie...

"Not necessarily Hoth. I never thought of Hoth as "mountainous". Just an icy tundra."

Might be a totally different planet from Hoth, but Hoth does have mountains. you see them when the snowspeeders fly out to look for Han and Luke, and also in the background during the battle.

You know how Hoth is different from spaceships and lightsabers? Only one of the movies has Hoth! Jackass.

The people complaining about the headline at least read the headline?
Josh never confirmed anything more than a location with ice
He's asking if it COULD be Hoth.

Why come up with new ideas when you can just rehash the old movies? That was the plan for the prequels and that worked out swimmingly.

Not a spoiler. Just a little something to get us more excited.

Hoth was my favorite map in battlefront. Echo base and TaunTauns ftw!

F.UCK HOTH!

would you people shut up about spoilers, jesus. Knowing that Hoth is in the movie spoils absolutely nothing. "HOLY @#!$! THERE IS SNOW?! AHHHH, the movie is ruined for me! I wanted the weather to surprise me!" As mentioned, this is no way CONFIRMED as 'Hoth.' Chill out. It could be Soth (<--Made up), Hoth's nearby cousin-planet that happens to have snow as well.

"Ice planet" is so broad it might as well be a spoiler from one of McNyagano's fake reviews.

LMAO! I love how people consider THIS headline to be a spoiler...but 5 articles down from this one, the Game of Thrones article has a headline that ACTUALLY spoils something about the upcoming season (not that I'm all that upset about that "spoiler" either, mind you). Never change CBM. Never change.

@blackandyellow Don't you know? The ENTIRE Star Wars universe revolves around the Skywalker family, Tattooine, the Emperor, and now probably Hoth. OH, and the only black people that are allowed to be in these movies have to be related to Lando. Or Samuel L Jackson. That's just how it works.

batz, that stuff is pretty good. I like most of Sam Adams' stuff. Their Porch Rocker is a good summer beer and their Oktoberfest is always delicious.

Not much beats Sam Adams for me. Oktoberfest and Boston Lager are my absolute favorites, but I'm starting to get into their IPAs.

Oh damn, I did have the Porch Rocker couple weeks ago, stuff was great, that's what I was looking for tonight, but didn't have...almost substituted the Summer Ale, but got the Cherry instead, good decision...

Can't help but wonder...

Yoda hid out on Dagobah due to it's dark side nexus concealing his presence, the same source that enshrouded the cave Luke ventured into and fought Darth Skywalker... I'm almost expecting them to return to Yavin's 4th moon, the Massassassi temple's to find Luke. But fingers are crossed it's Dathomir we find him at, Rancor, the Witches, can't hardly wait...

Oh, and yeah, Hoth would be killer, but I'm expecting it to be Corellia's mountain ranges or something. Most planets would have polar regions, most mountains would have icy caps at least part of their solar year, barring the presence of twin suns or other environment issues.

Wherever the journey takes us, I'm certain there will be some moments relived, others introduced, bittersweet memories and epic new encounters. What I want from Empire most of all, is that feeling again, that Star Wars really is the greatest Saga of all time!!

Read my lips, No More Gungans!!!
