Disney buying Lucasfilm resulted in the cancellation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but the remaining 13 episodes were made available through Netflix along with the first five seasons. The focus has obviously since been put on Star Wars Rebels, but StarWars.com have released four unaired - and unfinished - episodes of the popular animated series for fans to enjoy! They can be found by clicking here. Also below is a new video which examines the lasting impact of Star Wars: The Clone Wars which even seems to hint that we could one day return to that world!

It's sad that the series got the ax. Disney has murdered 3 amazing series (Spectacular Spider-Man, Wolverine & The X-Men, and now Star Wars: The Clone Wars) with their acquisitions of properties and it's a damn shame. Hopefully one day we can get those final 2 seasons that were planned produced. I look forward to Rebels but it's going to be a constant reminder of this fantastic series that will more than likely not be reproduced in Rebels.

As someone who liked a lot of elements from the prequels, I found Clone Wars took the worst elements of the prequels and made that the focus. Even the episodes that are supposed to be "great" like the Dagobah one in the last season just feels like a crappy version of a potentially interesting story. Clone Wars shouldn't be considered canon and I don't consider anything outside the movies to be canon.

And look at Rebels, the period between ep.3/4 is arguably one of the most interesting yet largely unexplored periods of the timeline yet they are giving us a show that does nothing original. The characters are just the B-Team version of Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie. Im not expecting an overly mature show given that its aimed at kids, but at least be original.

And again the fact that the tone is so different from the films yet is meant to exist in the same universe is absurd. Just make a show, don't act like its somehow on par with the films.

And on top of all this, CW creates a number of continuity issues and thus shouldn't be considered canon at all.

Thank you PeterParker1991... I'm so tired of people complaining about the prequels. They were fine . It's all Lucas' creation. If people don't like them, don't watch them. If someone thinks they can do better, then go out an prove it. Otherwise shut up already.

Clone Wars had its little niche but its not something that's really on par with the rest.It didn't have that feeling you get from the movies or just one of the many novels that are no longer canon. I mean come on man Ahsoka was one of the most annoying f*cking Jedi I've ever seen. . . And why in hell are the Jedi and the Sith so fearful or just plain stupid enough to get fooled or caught by that pirate dude (Hondo Ohnaka). He wasn't that f*cking clever yet he kept being a problem. I watched the sh*t so I cant say it didn't have its value but when it was bad it was reeeeal bad . Cringe worthy bad.

Level of skill does not justify or negate an opinion. If that's the case, then you must have loved the Green Lantern film and can say nothing against it. The same with Catwoman, right? Don't like how the restaurant prepared your food? Unless you can cook better, keep your [frick]ing mouth shut, right? Just think about all of the things that you can NOT do and imagine how many opinions you would lose the ability to espouse upon. Does this still seem like a suitable way to argue?

I wish people would stop giving Lucas so much credit for the Star Wars franchise.

He only directed three of the movies and well....you know which ones.

As for the original trilogy, he came up with a lot of the ideas...which were then tweaked and improved by others who really deserve more of the praise.

While Lucas doesn't deserve full credit for the original trilogy, he really doesn't deserve to be short-changed either. In the time during and since the prequels, there has been a lot of anti-Lucas bandwagon bashing. Sure, he messed up those movies so he was responsible for a lot of mediocrity. But I think it's ridiculous to ignore the fact that he's responsible for much of what we fans love. It's like people can't rationalize that the man did great things then did mediocre things, so they just want to make it easy to bash him by viewing him as a mediocre hack for his entire career. The fact is, there would be no Star Wars without Lucas. The man is the single most important creative force in one of the greatest films of all time, one of (if not) the greatest film trilogies(y) of all time, and arguably the greatest science fiction franchise of all time.

The prequels suffered from Lucas being involved as a director. As an idea man, he's great. SW is his baby, and he's come up with great stuff (along with the other writers of the series) for Clone Wars. The prequels were rushed and the character development felt forced. The best thing about them were Ewan McGregor, Sam Jackson, and Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine. The action was great but story, except in Revenge of the Sith was too slow. The Clone Wars actually made up for all of that. Taking the Prequels, Clone Wars (The Gendy Tarkovsky series of shorts) and The Clone Wars together actually makes for a pretty great story.

Dedpool, I agree. At the very least, Lucas has a great imagination and comes up with interesting ideas. As a storyteller, he was past his prime by the time he made the prequels.

The simple fact is George Lucas is an AMAZING storyteller, the vision he created and continued to create with Clone Wars was unreal.
If you want to blame anyone for him making additions to his original idea 20 years later, well thats on the fans...really.
However no one close to George apparently had the balls to tell him his prequel idea needed tweaks...he was the writer, he was the director, and the owner. So no one was there to tell him where things went bad. Keep in mind Empire & Jedi weren't directed by George. So bad writing = bad acting, and yes even Jar Jar;
However realize, Clone Wars, Rebels, and whatever comes in the future are canon, so get on board, always in motion the future is. (But I have no clue who thought a Vader "NOOOOO" was necessary on Jedi...silly George

Yeah Jedi, sorry man she just was so jump before she looked attitude and barely listened to her master or any of the other masters. It was to the point where you say "Is she even a Jedi" or Jedi worthy. As far as the maturity . . . it just never was that much of a growth to me. I mean i think just made entirely too bad ass as Jedi as for as force control. Should have gotten her ass handed to her by Ventress more. At times she seemed better than Obi Wan and possibly Anakin . . . . f*ck that.

You misinterpreted me. Never did I say that he had no responsibility for it's success. But there were other people who had a huge hand in it as well, and I always thought it was selfish of Lucas to act like it was his and his alone.

I enjoyed the Clone Wars series. Was my favorite Star Wars related media besides Empire Strikes Back. Probably runs neck and neck with A New Hope.

He designed the puzzle and put it together. So a few people helped him with a few pieces, it's still his baby and he deserves most if not all of the credit for it. Regardless, the people who worked for him have nothing but praise for the man. He wasn't an "arrogant and greedy overlord" of the franchise, he shared his wealth with the production team and acted to protect his interests in the franchise. A few years ago he decided he had done all he wanted to with "Star Wars" and, recognizing that there was still demand for more, he sold the rights to Disney. That's the point where the Lucas-bashers should have died out... If I had been in his position, you would have had to pry the franchise from my cold dead hands.

Except when he completely cut actors out of the original trilogy.

He designed the puzzle, but he is not the one who put it together. He had a major major part in it, but he still didn't direct any of the originals and had little to do with most of the dialogue.

The only reason I call him selfish is because of the edits he has made to the first three films to fit HIS vision. As if it were a one man show and only his vision mattered among the tons of other people who also put their heart and souls into the films.
