THE FANTASTIC FOUR To Wear Gritty "Containment Suits" In Josh Trank's Reboot

Michael B. Jordan has said that The Fantastic Four won't be decked out in "cheesy superhero outfits" in Josh Trank's upcoming reboot, but the Chronicle star now shares some more details on the "gritty" movie and the "containment suits" the team will don. Hit the jump for details!

Michael B. Jordan recently made an appearance on Good Morning America and dropped some additional details about the suits we'll see in the upcoming reboot, The Fantastic Four. It definitely doesn't sound as if we'll see them walking around in bright blue costumes emblazoned with the number "4" (though it's easy to imagine that being the case by the time the credits roll).

"It's a new look," the actor who plays Johnny Storm/The Human Torch revealed in an interview with the ABC show. "We are all in containment suits. It's gritty. It's a gritty film." What will they look like exactly? While the Chronicle star was careful not to give too many details away, he did drop a few additional hints as to what we should expect. "The costume process definitely took some time to get in and out of that thing, especially since I was bulking up. It was a little more snug during filming. We got through it man. It was a process, but we did it. It was hard work."I'm really excited about it, everyone is really happy. We worked hard for three months, put a lot of time into it. The script is very grounded and relatable to everybody, as much as you can. You really get a chance to grow with these characters. It's an origin story. You get to discover these abilities. These disabilities rather and grow with them." That's not the first time the foursome's powers have been described this way of course, so it should be interesting to see how this ends up playing out on the big screen. What do you guys think of the above costume descriptions?

Also starring Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm and Toby Kebbell as Victor Von Doom, The Fantastic Four is set to be released on August 7th, 2015.

I can't even begin to imagine what the suits will look like, other than it will look drastically different from the comics. I think that what with filming being finished quite some time ago and it coming out in less than a year, it's about time we get a first official look.

I'm hoping it's good. Simon Kinberg did a great job with writing DOFP, Trank did a really good job with Chronicle, and the cast is very talented. I'm not too sure about this "gritty" approach, but then again I couldn't care less about it taking huge liberties with the source material either. A movie shouldn't be judged on how accurate it was to the source material, it should be judged on the actual quality.

Seriously they should stop having the cast talk about this film, as everytime they say something it just kills it even more.

I mean he talking about bulking up but their wearing containment suits too

I don't get it, why would u bulk up if your wearing a containment suit?

I really think Michael B Jordan is screwing with us with all this info he's giving the fans.
He's probably trying to get back at the folks criticizing about him playing human torch

Whatever.

Since I know the tone they're going for, I can dig it. Hopefully they wear the Future Foundation suits under.

20th Century Fox gave us a choice. Black leather suits or something else that wasn't anything like the comic book costume, but gritty and kewl.

I REALLY wanna see this movie, but I'm starting to second guess things. Still hopeful though.

Fox needs to slap a muzzle on this kid though. Shut him up. He's just making things sound worse. You're not gonna draw in audiences if you keep letting the actors give sketchy explanations of the film. Release a trailer or have them sign a gag order until you do.

The picture used in this article should give the readers a great idea on how the final product will look. But it'll be a lot more practical for this space-age.

In earlier drafts of the script, (Not sure if it'll be in final product), the opening is reminiscent of GRAVITY. Though now I hear it'll be more in line of the Ultimates before flash forwarding.

@HypeMusheen The movie isn't found footage but will definitely have more than a hand full of intercuts between live and recorded footage. Expect shaky cam, nauseating space movements, so on.
