Meet 'Wildcat' In ARROW Season 3, Episode 3 Stills; "Corto Maltese"

The CW have sent over a new batch of images from the third episode of Arrow, and as well as Oliver, Roy and Diggle heading into action together, we also get a look at the latter's baby and J.R. Ramirez as Ted Grant, the man better known to comic book fans as Wildcat...

OLIVER SEARCHES FOR THEA IN CORTO MALTESE WHILE DIGGLE TRACKS A.R.G.U.S. AGENT MARK SHAW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) decides it’s time for Thea (Willa Holland) to come back to Starling City, so he packs for Corto Maltese, where Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has traced Thea’s whereabouts. Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) asks Diggle (David Ramsey) to go with Oliver because one of her field operatives, Mark Shaw (guest star David Cubitt), has gone dark in Corto Maltese and she’d like him to look into it. Feeling responsible for Thea’s departure, Roy (Colton Haynes) joins Oliver and Diggle on their journey. Shaw double-crosses Diggle, putting numerous A.R.G.U.S. agents, including Lyla, at risk. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) meets Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), and Felicity adjusts to her new job. Stephen Surjik directed the episode written by Erik Oleson & Beth Schwartz (#303).

Maybe because he usually is in the comics...

I was swinging for Eric Roberts to grab the role - he's done his fair share of low rent TV.

Man Arrow packs some muscle. Its funny when the boxer looks like the weediest guy on the show - check out his arms next to Diggles.

You know, if you're into that sort of thing.

I like the idea of Oliver using lethal force. Why use a bow and arrow (which are lethal weapons) if you don't want to kill anyone. Just because of Batman, people think that all heroes should have a "no killing" rule. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense.

Terrible casting of Wildcat.
Perhaps he's ok,have to watch & see but he looks so wrong for the part.
His age,his body...just not right.

This dude doesn't look like a veteran fighter. Whatever, we'll see how he acts.

Shouldn't Wildcat be like 50-60 not 20-30

@Nomis

My point still stands. They're trying to gi ve every hero Batman's morals, but that doesn't always fit. It's like using the gun while saying you don't want to kill anyone.

He really looks like he's at least about 50% short in both age and size.

I seriously hope he's not going to become a part in some new romance/triangle thingy.

It's a pity that americans forget that "Corto Maltese" was a shout out to a Comic Book character by my compatriot Hugo Pratt.
Seriously, look it up.

Laurel already has a father figure so Wildcat can be be a bit younger

@batmannightwingrobin

"What does wildcats age matter anyway, he is there to train Laurel."

If that's all he ends up doing with Laurel I guess I'll be fine with it. ;)

Couldn't Wildcat at least have been a bit of a Veteran fighter? He looks younger than Oliver. Cw and their teen-like bullshit. Ugh, not feeling this farce.

What is it with American castings for tv shows that everyone must be under 35 and pass for a model?. I've even noticed it on shows like CSI where forensic pathologists and bio-engineers pass for models. Do they skim the same LA casting pool or something? - it's lame as hell.

Wildcat is supposed to be a grizzled veteran with 50+ years experience: Read this:

I'm confused... I think the casting at Arrow is too. See, I thought that Ted Grant was a grizzled, white, retired professional boxer... That guys is a young, Hispanic actor, who is quite out of shape. Eh nooo...
