Comic Book Movies And TV Shows Do Well In People's Choice Awards Nominations

There's shockingly no mention of Arrow after its stellar second season, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gotham, The Flash, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: Days of Future Past each have a number of nominations. Check it out!

The nominations for the 2015 People's Choice Awards have been revealed, and it's fair to say that the majority of comic book movies and TV shows have done very well. There's shockingly no sign of Arrow here, but newer shows like Gotham and The Flash have received plenty of attention. Having been chosen by the "people", this isn't the best of lists (Transformers' Mark Wahlberg over Chris Pratt?!) but you'll be able to find out the results regardless next January. Thoughts?

Isn't something off here when one of the People's Choice Award Nominees for Best New Comedy ('Bad Judge') was just canceled? lol

But big ups for the 'Fitz' nod

@Doopie

Using characters from the DC universe for a DC comic superhero is ripping off now?

So, is this now an award that doesn't matter because you don't like the nominations?

Oh and why does it matter if the series don't have good ratings, this shows that most of the audience don't watch it on TV these days

Gotham has the most noms, that says a lot.

Not shocking to me that Arrow got nothing. Season 2 of Arrow had near zero entertainment value. It had some slick fight scenes here and there, but that's it.
Manu Bennett was cool as Slade, until he shows up in Starling City as a stiff, big mouth bore in a fancy suit who was like a funeral director who occasionally got into fights.

Amell was even more stodgy and monotonous in season 2 than season 1. And it doesn't help to have a central character who is an unlikable hero wannabe protagonist who has broke more laws and murdered more people than any of the criminals he seeks to bring down. Arrow is the villain of the story.

Another problem with Arrow is that it is just a collection of borrowed ideas from Nolan's films mixed with Batman villains. There's nothing new or fresh in the show. Nolan's been there done that. Meantime The Walking Dead, The Flash, Gotham and Agents Of Shield all bring something different to the screen.

Arrow has failed this city!

Nice to see CBMs getting some love.

@Bekss

Pretty sure that People's Choice has never mattered. It's probably the one that should most of the time though, lol.

AGENTS of SHIELD is bringing shit to the screen. All the show continues to do is remind you of all the more interesting actual superheroes out there while they waste their time with humans no gives two shits about.

Gotham is a bag of references. Literally. All it is is CSI Miami with a million over the top on the nose Batman references that make no sense in the context and time.

Flash and Arrow, on the other hand, kick ass. Arrow, especially gets not nearly enough credit. Are the actors always 100%? Not always, but Stephen Amell is awesome as Oliver/Arrow. What people don't understand is that he's supposed to be stoic after being traumatized on the island. He plays it off very well. Especially the scene in season 3 where he's explaining that he can't show emotion as everyone looks up to him. It's true and it works.

As for the other actors, Laurel and Thea have significantly improved and fit well in their roles. Lance as always been great and while Roy is still getting there, seeing him in that badass Arsenal costume is enough to do away with all problems.

And don't even get me started on The Walking Dead.

How one can call Arrow stupid and not TWD is mind numbing to me.

Well yeah but I want to be sure, lol.

Also, it was the people who chose so I think it has at least some relevance, not much but some.

I don't mind not seeing Arrow on any TV nomination. Its popularity circulates only among comic book fans, apart from the small demographic it targets.

What I do mind is not seeing Person of Interest in any of the TV nomination. Brilliant story telling and direction.

And Person of Interest was created by Jonathan Nolan no less.

Chris Pratt should be on there instead of Whalberg for action movie actor. Shailene Woodley acts with the same guys for every film she does lol
GhostDog
GhostDog - 11/5/2014, 8:31 AM
And tobbe honest Amell is a monotone and stale actor. He doesn't have much range. I love a Arrow still. The acting is why that show is great. It's the action and storylines and villains....an the mythology
GhostDog
GhostDog - 11/5/2014, 8:32 AM
The acting ISNT why the show is great*
