Marvel are launching a number of Star Wars comic books from the likes of Jason Aaron, Mark Waid, John Cassaday, and Terry Dodson next year, but there so far hasn't been any talk of a crossover between that universe and the one inhabited by characters like Spider-Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Giving us an idea of what that would look like is this stunning piece by Alex Ross which he was asked to do by a friend. Lucky guy, eh? Who do you guys think would win this battle?

That's a pretty cool piece of art. IMO, I'd probably say Vader would trump Doom.

Alex Ross is a genius when it comes to drawing…..

Doom. It takes a half-assed jedi to beat Vader. It takes the Fantastic Four or the Avengers to beat Doom.

That ain't Trank's antisocial blogger Domeschev, that's the real McCoy Dr. Doom right there. Epic.

@GentlemanlyBatman- Please don't base Doom on his CBM history! It sucked!!! @MisterBatfleck- http://marvel.wikia.com/Victor_von_Doom_%28Earth-616%29

Isn't Dr Doom an angry anti-social computer programmer?? Is this some kind of new interpretation of the character??

:p

Wow, so he went from that amazing origin to an evil blogger. What the [frick] Fox.

Alex Ross is the King. Undisputed.

As disappointing as the Fantastic Four movies were, we tend to forget that they were some of the best visual adaptations that we've seen. Doom in particular. There are definitely differences, but dammit, Julian McMahon really
Looked the part.

@MisterBatfleck- pretty much!!! @MercwithMouth- NO. No, he didn't. I want a DOOM that looks like Dr. Doom as much as Ultron looks like Ultron. The above pic looks like a somewhat decent Halloween costume in a Midwest chilly area...

Ultron doesn't look a lot like Ultron. But that's ok. I don't mind changes. I loved the visuals in the Fantastic Four movies, and the movies are actually better than the reputation they are given.

This art is really old. I saw it in Wizard at least ten years ago. I think they commissioned it. Still awesome though.

Poor Doom. Someday he'll get a movie that shows the world how bad ass he truly is.

When you can go toe to toe with Dr. Strange as a sorcerer and Reed Richards as a genius intellect, you don't need the [frick]ing force. Dr Doom prevails!
