Benedict Cumberbatch Responds To STAR WARS Trailer Speculation; Is He In The Movie?

There's been a lot of speculation that it was Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) who provided the voiceover in the trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and the actor responds to that here by stating that he won't be making an appearance in the movie. Or will he?

It's been reported that the voice in the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens trailer belongs to Andy Serkis, but many fans still believe we were hearing Sherlock star and possible Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch. "Yeah, I can put that one to bed can't I?" Benedict Cumberbatch asks in the video above after turning to his publicist on the red carpet of the at Evening Standard Theatre Awards earlier today. "I mean, I am NOT the voice of the Star Wars trailer, nor am I the hooded character with the rather cool new lightsaber, so...no. No, no." Asked whether he's in the film somewhere though, Cumberbatch once again answered "No", but quickly walked away. Thoughts?

He's NOT in the movie. I think it's pretty clear but everyone loves to keep rumors going. Andy Serkis was clearly the first voice, the second voice maybe but i'm not sure.

He shouldn't have to do much prepping for Doctor Strange. All he needs is the mustache and it's a go, he does impersonations with ease. Wouldn't be surprised if he does the same for Strange.

Can't people just accept the fact he's not in the new Star Wars movie? He wasn't in the official cast reading photo that was released a few months back and if he was in it why would Disney/Lucasfilm/JJ Abrams go through the trouble of keeping him a secret? They'd keep his character a secret but not him being cast. I'm waiting for him to finally break and snap at the next reporter that asks him if he's in Star Wars or Dr Strange.

@bcom

I'm not saying he's in the movie, but he could totally be in like a post credit scene or a small scene to set up for future films. But I agree, people need to stop bugging him about it.

Couldn't give a shit if Cumberbatch is the movie or not.These actors are sworn to secrecy,so of course Cumberbatch will deny it or he actually isn't in it.

Why is the Media is still bugging him. Hes not in it. The Fanboy haters scared JJ from using him. so there's no need to keep it up. Even if hes in it, maybe as an alien who cares. Its a wasted opportunity. He would have been awesome as a JEDI or Sith. Spinoff maybe?
