SlashFilm and a number of other outlets are reporting that Amy Pascal also turned to Sam Raimi for help with the Spider-Man franchise. Though it has now been removed from the piece written up by The Wall Street Journal, it did initially state that, "Ms. Pascal also talked to Sam Raimi, who directed the studio’s first three 'Spider-Man' movies, about returning to the franchise, possibly to direct again or as a producer." It's not clear why this was removed, but it's hard to imagine they made a mistake (instead, it could be that they're saving this piece of information for a follow-up report). Regardless, apart from studio interference ruining Spider-Man 3, Raimi did an incredible job with the iconic Marvel superhero, and it's easy to imagine him putting the franchise back on the right track if he agrees to return.
