The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is #1 at the worldwide box office for a second week in a row (it opened in many international territories last week) with a haul of $105 million from overseas. Combined with what it earned last week, that gives it an international total of $105.5 milion. Throw in the fact that the threequel has exceeded expectations in North America with $90.6 million - which is quite a bit more than initial estimates of $80 million and more than the first two films opened with - and it has now reached $355 million worldwide after just 12 days of release. $20.1 million has been brought in from IMAX screens, but there's no word on what kind of difference HFR may have made, a format which unfortunately hasn't been embraced by moviegoers since debuting with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
