Marvel's daily Uncanny Avengers teasers show no signs of stopping, with the latest focusing on The Vision. His new look is obviously worth talking about, but what could this mysterious quote from the android be in reference to? We're more than likely going to have to wait and see, but on another note, it's interesting that his pose here isn't all that different to Ultron's in the recently released promo art for Avengers: Age of Ultron. What do you guys think about the teaser?

Not a fan of changing a character to make it look like a movie version but I am happy to see ol Visz getting some love recently.

Always liked it when Visz and witchy were a couple. Byrne screwed them up when he worked on WCA.

Aside from looking less spandexy, this is essentially his Epting designed Harras-era costume with red instead of gold for his chest. I'm fine with that.

As for the quote, who can say? It's creepy, frankly... a kind of "Hi, you don't know me, but you're meant to have my babies" introduction.

It's a shame, but Byrne really destroyed the character in his West Coast Avengers run. The Wanda-Vizh romance was actually one of the great comic book romances, but the pair had admittedly reached a "happy ever after" that just doesn't work for ongoing serialized stories. So Byrne decided to trash the Vision in every way possible in order to free up Wanda for other romantic subplots. So a character that carried the book through the late 60's and 70's and was so much the draw that he was part of the cover logo through most of those years was made into a watered-down version of Star Trek's "Data", and he's never recovered.

Hopefully the upcoming film will bring back the awesomeness that is the Vision to his full potential and restore his popularity.

@Gliderman: Essentially, the whole Vizh/Scarlet Witch romance was about two outsiders falling for each other, Wanda having to deal with the bigoted humans who hated mutants (and especially a mutant who dared to love an artificially created man), and the Vision having to get over the fact that although his entire body was artificial, he wasn't just a copy of Simon Williams or any less of a real person. The Vision put on a cold, emotionless facade, but was a pretty awesome, passionate character... prone to beating the unholy hell out of villains when he lost his temper, and Vizh and Wanda made a great couple and were fiercely protective of each other.

Eventually, though, they pretty much worked through all of their issues... The Vision was comfortable with who he was, he and Wanda were married, left the Avengers and Wanda even gave birth to twins after absorbing the magical energy of a hidden town full of witches and channeling it into a wish to become pregnant.

The problem was that this "happy ending" to their story made them boring... and they were two of the most popular characters in the Avengers roster. So John Byrne brought them out of retirement by having the Vision kidnapped by the world's governments and disassembled. The Avengers were too late in rescuing him, and while they could put him back together he was essentially a blank slate with no emotions (and no personality). Byrne also decided to retcon Wanda's twins into never existing. So her marriage and family were essentially dead.

The Vision remained a shitty remnant of what he used to be for years, and was just regaining his personality and becoming interesting again when "Heroes Reborn" happened, sidelining the character. Then Busiek did a *very* slow burn trying to rebuild the character up during his run, only to have Bendis write "Avengers Disassembled" which again killed off the Vision (by Wanda directly this time) and refocused on the whole "Wanda's kids never existed thing".

So really, this movie is the only chance the poor character seems to have of getting any justice.

I love how this costume has thrown disregard to the fact that Vision's skin is the red stuff.

I really want them to stop letting the movies influence the comic looks. Other way around and keep it that way plz.
