ARROW/THE FLASH Crossovers To Become Yearly Events; Talks Of ATOM Spinoff Have Begun

CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed earlier today that we may end up getting another DC Comics TV series on The CW, and based on comments from Greg Berlanti, The Atom could be it! We also have news on yearly crossovers, as well as much more on what's to come in Arrow and The Flash...

The crossover between Arrow and The Flash was a hit, so another seems inevitable. While that won't be happening during the current seasons of each show, could the two heroes meet up again sometime soon? Yes! The plan according to CW President Mark Pedowitz is to have them being a regular event each Fall/Winter, similar to the popular Doctor Who Christmas Special episodes.

There's also been talks of expanding this growing corner of the DC Universe, with Pedowitz adding: "We are having some preliminary discussions about expanding [that] universe, but we have not vetted them out. Could there be another hour in that universe? Possibly. As long as there’s no audience fatigue." W
e already know that Supergirl might show in one of the shows despite it being on CBS, but why didn't that series end up on The CW anyway? "We were aware of it," he adds. "You don't want to become just one thing." What then could the third show end up being? Well, Arrow and The Flash exec producer Greg Berlanti  expanded on this by revealing that they're in "very early talks" about a "very general idea" for an Atom spinoff starring Brandon Routh!

It's obviously early days though, and much of this will likely depend on how well The Atom is received when Ray Palmeer finally suits up in Arrow. How would you guys feel about a show starring the pint-sized superhero? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

Atom won't have the same powers as the comic, right? There's no way they have the budget for shrinking.

I was hoping for / expecting a Green Lantern show. THAT I would be excited for.

That will be real good to see Atom's powers on TV-series.

Routh brings some much needed charisma to that show...other than Felicity, the rest are very "CW" actors, if that makes sense...meaning all hot as duck (or handsome ;), but kinda flat with their personalities...

I guess we will see when Ray Palmer suits up how the public takes to him. Same with Firestorm. But I think we can all agree the biggest thing they can do is go Green Lantern. Be it Diggle, or dropping Jenson Ackles in as Hal, it just comes down to playing off the powers of the ring on a tv budget. I can deal with Practical make-ups too, the film may have been almost too CG enhanced, like the prequels.

Love Routh as Atom each episode of is better with him in it. They don't have enough time to give him much screen time on arrow so a spin off would be amazeballs.

How will they do the shrinking on a tv budget? Scratch that, a CW budget? It's a lot different then the Flash which is a streak of light, although it has been really good

I'm telling you guys. A Hawkman or Martian Manhunter Television Series set in the DC CW Universe will be kick-ass. They can be the Green Lantern filler to their Justice League (as Arrow's is Batman and Flash's is Supes).

Could be really cool to see an atom show. Routh has definitely been really good thus far. I think the true test will be how good he can be as the atom as well has how good they can make the costume and effects look on a TV budget.
