Tonight's episode was amazing! The second half of the season is going to blow the first out of the water.

The one thing that I didn't like was how they set the Electrocutioner up to be this huge, cunning Hannibal Lecter-eque villain and then have Jim Gordon defeat him in the most anti-climatic way imaginable. I felt the same way with how John Garret was killed in SHIELD. Also, in the final "battle" between Gordon, Electrocutioner used his electricity in ridiculously cartoony ways.

Other then that and the terrible sub-plot with Barabara, everything else was completely solid.

I have a feeling that Jack Buchinsky is the original Electrocutioner from the comics (IE Lester Buchinsky's unnamed brother).

I started watching this again from Episode 8 onward, and it's definitely growing on me. Especially eps 11 and 12 were quite enjoyable.

I'm just not thaaaat big a fan of Jim Gordon, and little Poison Ivy being buddies with little Catwoman was too much for me. Harvey Dent was also too much, and while I'm starting to tolerate Riddler same goes for him. And I just don't like Fish.

But I've really started to like Harvey and Alfred, and even little Bruce and Selina. Penguin of course is the real star of the show; damn that guy's good! :)

All in all I think if they'd tuned down the too blatant Batman Mythos references and cameos this show would be something I could really like a lot.

You know. After watching Gotham, I'm fine with Gordon cheating on Barbara when she was pregnant in Year One.

Awesome episode. Gotham is back with a bang. I think Fish will becaome a psycho and eventually Penguin's bitch like Theon Grejoy in Game of Thrones.

Okay, let's be fair. The reason that this episode was so successful was because things actually happened. This show suffers from the same things that plague tons of other "first season" shows, but it didn't have to: long build up. We already KNOW the characters, we know the city and setting and we know the gravity of the situations. That's the point of Gotham, we're exploring the past. So we didn't really need what has felt like 100 filler episodes just to have Fish finally make her move.

Honestly, this should have happened back in episode 4 or 5. They're trying to weave a very intricate web involving Fish and the mafia, but I've been reading lots of comments very few like Fish Mooney. Or rather, I should say, most fans like hating her. I'd say 89% of the fanbase are just waiting for her death scene. And that doesn't mean she's been an excellently written villain, it means she is annoying and holding the story back.

In contrast, when audiences saw Heath's Joker in TDK, most fans were psyched about the idea that he'd come back or even how he'd cameo in future installments. Penguin is doing that for this show, showing how audiences should feel about the villains.

Do you see the trend here? By and large, the characters are stale. The overarching plots don't move forward and we're set on course for a show that could take real world years to get to anything close to the known future of this world. And even in all of that time we'd still be no closer to seeing Batman.

Last night changed that. Fish's story moved forward, the Arkham story could have lingered for 20 years but that moved forward, Penguin's story moved forward and so did things with Maroni and Falcone. And I think Bullock believes in Gordon now. I think they all(GCPD) do. So if things go backward...(Such as Fish gaining power again or not dying at his hand, Gordon being sent back to Arkham or losing his badge again, or the GCPD turning on Gordon) then the show will become worse than stale. It will be redundant.

If you look at great shows, they moved forward with new ideas. Walter white didn't stay around wondering how he was going to make money, the show moved on.
