VERTIGO (GUEST STAR PETER STORMARE) RETURNS AND PITS CANARY AGAINST BLACK CANARY — Oliver (Stephen Amell) is thrown by the changes within Team Arrow. He’s used to calling the shots but sees that the team has evolved in his absence and tensions quickly escalate in the lair. Oliver is furious that Laurel (Katie Cassidy) has been going out as the Black Canary and tells her to stop risking her life, but when Vertigo (guest star Peter Stormare) hits the streets again, Laurel goes against Oliver’s wishes and tracks down Vertigo who hits her with a full dose of the drug. Laurel’s biggest fears revolve around her sister Sara (guest star Caity Lotz) so the Vertigo causes her to hallucinate an epic fight between Canary and Black Canary. Meanwhile, Chase (guest star Austin Butler) surprises Thea (Willa Holland), and Roy (Colton Haynes) warns Thea to stay away from Malcolm (John Barrowman). Michael Schultz directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Emilia Ortega Aldrich.

Well, this one gives away a lot more than I expected that's for sure! Oliver Queen will indeed be returning to Starling City then, albeit with a very different status quo. Sara'a return (which we've known about for quite some time now) will also be a "dream sequence" of sorts as Black Canary battles Canary. That should be fun to see!

Does anyone else think Diggle should become the Guardian?

Well that's disappointing that Sara will just be in the episode with Laurel tripping out. Jokingly, is anyone surprised Laurel's going to be back on drugs? In my opinion it would have been more exciting if someone put Sara's body in the Lazarus Pit, this way Sara would have went crazy like Jason Todd and start attacking her sister. That would be a fun cat fight scene to watch. More so then just one that's going on in the head.

@Heder, for the most popular run of GA and a good chunk of BoP, and in the golden age, Black Canary had 0 powers. Its kind of like Bane. Previously to the Nu 52, Bane hadnt used Venom in a decade.

I watched some scenes being filmed a little while back and Caity Lotz was there, maybe that was what was being filmed?

It took Ollie five years of intense and life-threatening training on the island and then in Hong Kong to don his costume and Laurel trains in a boxing gym for a few months and...wullah!!

"in season 1 it is shown shes a badass."

I believe your idea of badass and mine are completely different. She even got her ass kicked easily in the first part of this season.

I'd love it if it's revealed that diggles middle name is Stewart. They don't have the budget for a proper green lantern though.

Called it!!! ^^^

That's why he had to "die". It's all about that growth. :)

Why is that DJ idiot still on the show? He provides nothing but an annoyance and drags the Thea character down with his douchiness.

I don't know, I feel like Laurel will get the Canary cry. Just the fact that she's about to go up against Vertigo gives me hope that at some point the real Count Vertigo will show up on the show, and during this time Laurel will get her powers. Also Sara vs Laurel, can't wait to see that.

My goodness guys, is it this hard to understand. Roy, Thea, and Laurel are nowhere near as good as Oliver, it's been made very clear, so stop pretending like the showrunners turned them into full flege vigilantes on the same level as Oliver. Another thing, the training they have received is enough for them to hold their own in the streets. Roy was already a street brawler before he met Oliver and has been training with Oliver since Barry returned to Central city in season 2 which is over 9 months of training not including any training from the beginning of the season to this point. Thea has been trained in the way of the league for 6 months, not including any training from the beginning of the season to this point, by her father. As stated in the first season detective/captain Lance forced Laurel to take self defense classes, for how long and at what age, we do not know, but we did see her kick some ass with this training. Laurel now has been training with Ted Grant/Wildcat for I'll say roughly 3 months, which isn't much but WC is one of DC's top hand-to-hand combatants, so 3 months of training is a lot.

Oliver is back already, come the [frick] on! Build suspense and show some evolution. Two episodes isn't an evolution in team arrow. Also I wish they used Lazarus Pit. It's a huge missed opportunity. HUGE. This show is really solid but they often miss the mark and now that we know that Oliver "dies" just to be brought back the very next episode and the returns the episode after- shows the writers are weak. They should have waited till the season finale and used the pit.

What other way is there to return form the dead than the Lazarus Pit? Does Katana have resurrection powers or something?

@mattattack I know whining is fun for some people, but last episode was number 10, this post is about episode 13. There are going to be 3 episodes without Oliver in Starling City, 10, 11 and 12. Is not easier to read the title and understand it than crying for nothing?

If we already have BLACK Canary why can't Oliver already be the GREEN Arrow? :(
