"I had a whole different idea of how X-Men should go," Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn tells MTV News. "I thought Days of Future Past should be the next one and be set in the '80s. So, when I wrote the treatment, I then wrote Kingsman and got confused about which film I should direct next. The I said to Fox, 'Let me do Kingsman now, get somebody else in and we'll do the '70s version, recast Wolverine, and the we do Days of Future Past with the new Wolverine AND Hugh, and make it the biggest spectacle we've ever seen." That actually sounds awesome and a younger looking Wolverine makes perfect sense...after all, he didn't go from being a kid straight to looking like 46 year old Hugh Jackman! Based on X-Men: First Class, the X-Men would probably have had costumes too had he remained in control of the franchise. If only...

I liked DOFP but I would have loved to see Vaughn's vision.... I want to see a full trilogy from Vaughn

Wouldn't make much sense to recast Wolverine and keep Jackman in DoFP, unless Jackman was going to be playing a very old-looking Logan with makeup that we could believe is the older version of this new actor.

Hugh Jackman took Wolverine and brought him into our time. Leave him alone with Logan till you reboot the whole franchise. Even than a new guy would have a harder stand than Cavil next to Reeve.

That would have been cool to see. You always hear in SciFi movies, that you shouldn't run into your self if you go back in time, so getting to see the ripple effect would have been cool.

Well After Kick-Ass, First Class, and now seeing Kingsman, I am a big Vaughn fan. Kingsman was absolutely great.

But yea I think (depending on which direction Wolverine 2 takes and how long Fox plans to continue the First Class trilogy) Fox could make 1 no more than two more movies with the original cast and then reboot. Especially with the tv series they plan to do but then again who the hell knows what Fox has planned..............

Actually that's stupid because you had in the 60s Hugh's Wolverine(First Class cameo) and then in the 70's you had someone looking entirely different and definitely younger?

It seems like Fox too it from him and gave it to Singer.

An error here would be the Wolverine cameo in First Class...which was Hugh. Then a new Wolverine in 70's, and both in 80's? That sounds like a mess...

Actually yeah, I wonder what type of time travel Vaughn was originally talking about....

Because since Kitty transferred their consciousness to the past, there wouldn't be 2 Wolverines

Recast Wolverine? Why? What's the point? Hugh still looks young and hasn't aged too much since the original movie. We also saw him playing Wolverine in First Class. That's the most hair brained idea ever... I never thought I would be glad to see Singer back in the chair.

What's crazy, is maybe Vaughn would have had Cable in his DOFP instead of having Kitty transferring consciousness', we may have had real time travel, making it possible for 2 wolverines

I'm glad FOX has there go to guy for the X-Men movies. And Vaughn is right it is Bryan's franchise, but if Bryan was to ever leave again I think Vaughn should come back on. Or maybe try to find someone new to take a crack at The X-Men.

Same here, I read that interview from Sophie Turner about Jean, and one of the first things she said was she was going to model her performance after Famke and the old Jean from X-Men 1 - Last Stand movies.... and then after that I think she said she would look at the comics....

Then I started thinking about her and Jackman, which is a dynamic that just won't work....

But, if it was a full reboot, I would think, Jean Grey, that's awesome, can't wait, and there would be no baggage, at all
