Deadline reports that Chris Chalk has joined the cast of Gotham as Lucius Fox. He will first appear in season one's twenty first episode with an option to return in the already confirmed second season. According to the description provided by the site, this take on the DC Comics character will be, "Wayne Enterprise’s resident tech genius. In a corporation shadowed by nefarious dealings, Fox emerges as a moral beacon for young Bruce Wayne. His desire to help Bruce uphold Thomas Wayne’s legacy will eventually earn him a spot as one of the boy’s most important confidantes." That relationship was obviously well explored in The Dark Knight Trilogy, but it should be very interesting to see how it plays out between a younger Bruce and Lucius. What do you guys think?

Am I the only one that will be curious by the age differences of everyone? Like some people being too old or too young by the time bruce is actually batman?

it's like they stole the more interesting half of this show from Kevin Smith and Paul Dini on that podcast.

@ShadowakaTankD however, made this thread totally worthwhile! I wish HBO or somebody else with money and balls to spare would give Akira the GoT treatment and just do the manga right.

@BravoBoss - like Two-Face being about 20 years older than Bruce? Or the dollmaker? They ran themselves into a wall introducing everyone and their mothers (looking at you Penguin) in an attempt to make the show interesting. Hoping people would get by with nonsensical cameos created to disguise a very shitty story. Or Smith's overacting.

And to think we could have gotten a GCPD series instead of this.

He makes sense to join the story, I like it. My appreciation for the show is kind of on the decline again, though. Mostly due to too much Fish Mooney.

Without her and certain other things I might'Ve really liked it. But we can still get to that. Season 2 might have an Arrow S2 effect on me, who knows?

Yea man that would be amazing. I really want to see it done right. They could if they wanted to. Their are many american films with Asian casts and it works. I dont see why they couldnt think of it like that.

Sure put white people in there(Not the main characters though) mix it up but it doesnt HAVE to be neo new york or somthing like that. and after ww3 how is it NOT plausible that japan wouldnt be THE major power. The future is unpredictable.

And if they gave it the kind of love that GoT gets it would be the most compelling thing on TV.

Agreed. Still wish Gotham was set in a different decade, so they'd flash forward towards present day and wouldn't be flashing forward into the future. Granted, Parks & Rec. flashed forward to 2017 (the finale flashed forwarded several times) and they made it work, but that was the final season.

With Bruce being 12 yrs old, they'd need to flash forward at least ten yrs before Bruce is old enough to become Batman. I'm not sure they could pull it, but it could be neat if they occasionally show scenes from the future a la Breaking Bad.
