'Angel' Confirmed In Intriguing X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Production Art

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has unveiled a new piece of production art from the highly anticipated follow-up to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it confirms that Angel will appear in the movie! However, his surroundings are very strange indeed. Check it out!

Angel was played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand, but it appears as if the new timeline has altered things enough so that he will be born quite a bit sooner for the 1980s set X-Men: Apocalypse. It's hard to say what's going on here, but Angel definitely appears to be in a cage for the amusement of the crowd as part of some sort of show. Could that be an early Mr. Sinister conducting it? Who knows, but in a movie with Apocalypse, Angel not being included would have been a big mistake. Here's hoping we get to see him become Archangel! Regardless, we haven't heard who will be playing this character yet, but ripped Eastenders actor Ben Hardy seems like a safe bet for someone who will spend most of the movie with no shirt on! What do you think?

Angel in his 30's would be stupid as shit considering everyone else is in their teens. Then again, Tatum is playing Gambit so [frick] logic. You have a nearly clean slate, Fox, don't [frick] it up by having the age differences extremely far a part.

Amazing! I really hope we see Mr. Sinister as well!

Well this confirms that will get Archangel in the movie :D

@TheGambitFreak Well, Ben Hardy is 24 years old but he can easily pass as 17-18 so I don't think it'll be a problem for him to portray Angel in this movie and the innebivitable sequels.

Looks cool! Like some kind of circus freak show. I think this confirms Archangel....Angel in an x men film with Apocalypse, you gotta do it. Maybe Apocalypse promises to save Angel from this circus type place and give him real power to do so...then transforms him

Let's be real - no point in bringing up continuity issues anymore because clearly the studio is considering DoFP as a reboot to the franchise. It might not make sense at all (time travel + alternate timelines = characters can now appear before they were even born in the original X-trilogy? Nah), but it is what it is.

This is shapping to be the best X-Men movie by FOX so far. We just need Yellow and Blue costumes now and something a little more Raging-Cajun-like for Tatum.

As far as I'm concerned, the X-Men films go

First Class
Days of Future Past
Apocalypse

Deadpool somewhere in that.

Nothing else.

Though this film will need to be able 4 hours to introduce all these new mutants and Apocalypse.

So Nightcrawler would be there too. looks like a circus

Calm down? I liked the film a lot, you clearly didn't. Nothing to do with not being calm. Difference in opinion.

@LEVITIKUZ
I'd be happy if they were all introduced as students in a First Class Vaughn style montage.
It'd be much better than giving them all a detailed, 7 or 8 minute intro.

I love how people are bitching about the X-Men not following a timeline....

and the films they are bitching about and bring up in which why the timeline is wrong like Origins: Wolverine and Last Stand, they [frick]ing hate.

Why would one bitch about the films not following the timeline of terrible films?

@LEVITIKUZ In that case, IMO they definitely should've gone all-out and made First Class into a complete reboot like they were originally going to do (I think?) instead of the semi-prequel that it turned out to be.

Hmmm...... That seems like some sort of circus to me. It's time for speculation!
Given that we know Nightcrawler will be appearing in the film, could it be possible that both him and Angel are part of the same sort of mutant circus troupe? I could totally see them as some sort of double act- 'The Angel and the Demon' or something. JUst thinking out loud here.

@Barchiel

What timeline? DOFP removed the timeline completely. Anything and everything is possible now. Besides, the XMen continuity in the comics is completely [frick]ed, too.

So many continuity errors, I just remembered that there were two quicksilvers

They will.

A tell-tale sign that they are on the same path was the shoehorning in of Quicksilver and then Scarlett Witch in DOFP.

That's was her as a little girl in that shot of him watching the news, they just decided later on that maybe they shouldn't make her so young since they might want to use her in the near future so they said it's just some random red-headed girl sitting on Quicksilver's lap in his living room.

That was definitely supposed to be her. They weren't fooling anyone, they just had second thoughts later on. They're just throwing things around as usual and playing fast and loose with the franchise again.

They are on the same path.

@Humperdink Bryan Singer said that wasn't her but she was mentioned in a deleted scene

Why do people care about continuity so much when the original films had no set plan in place because they didnt think about that type of thing back then. The comics have no continuity, and ages mean nothing in the comics.
I would rather have a great character like angel redone if it lets us have him in a story with Apocalypse.

@Verzwei Oh, my bad. I mistook Ben Hardy for Ben Foster, who played him in X3.

I wish they used the original X-Men in First Class. Apocalypse should have been the movie where they introduce Banshee and Havok. Can you imagine how awesome DOFP would have been having Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Angel, Iceman, and Wolverine battling Sentinels in the 70s?

Even though th X-Men movies are doing amazing right now, people are still looking for things to hate about them because they aren't at Marvel Studios...
