In what seems more like common sense than an actual scoop, Collider reports that the first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will indeed debut alongside Mad Max: Fury Road. That's set to be released on May 15th, a date which would ensure that our first look at the highly anticipated 2016 movie (which is now less than a year away from being released) wouldn't be overshadowed by the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron or the second Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser. In fact, the site claims that "What I’ve heard is that Warners isn’t sure it wants to release the trailer while Avengers: Age of Ultron is destroying records and driving all social traffic during the end of April and early May." So, if this all pans out, expect promotion for Batman v Superman to start ramping up in a major way around a month from now. What do you hope to see in the trailer?

UPDATE: Variety has now confirmed the news, revealing that their sources have told them that the trailer will indeed launch alongside Mad Max: Fury Road. Expect to hear something from Warner Bros. very soon as you have to imagine we'll get plenty of trailer teasers, stills, posters, and the like! Stay tuned to CBM for updates.

First they said it was for the hobbit, then we would be given it as a christmaspresent, then they said it was on Superbowl, then they are saying Jupiter Ascending.

Now, on April 1st they are claiming that the trailer is going to be on a R-rated movie, with Batman v Superman being PG13 and is not even the same demographfic (Terminator Genysis is more closer to that one)

I don't belive this one bit

Comicbook dot com has also reported on this. Plus collider is pretty reliable, and it makes the most sense. So HELL YEAH!!

@Mrcool210

No it don't. It makes more sense (even if it is a Marvelmovie) to put it on Avengers Age of Ultron then a R-rated movie that is not even for the same demographic
Mrcool210
Mrcool210 - 3/31/2015, 5:41 PM
@Emblemmaniac yeah, no. Putting it in front of AOU wouldn't be as smart, with the star wars trailer premiering at the same time there would be more attention with that trailer then batman v superman. Mad max is their next big movie, even if its R rated its going to get a lot of butts in seats cause people love mad max. So it does make sense to put it there.
Emblemmaniac
Emblemmaniac - 3/31/2015, 5:44 PM
@Mrcool210

Even if it is with a Star Wars trailer, it still would be smarter since it will get the biggest opening this year and has the main demographic there. With Mad Max, you won't get out to your main demographfic PLUS add also those that won't see it on the cinema just because it is R... It would be one thing if this they said that is was on something like Deadpool (if it is R) since it is the same demographic and would be the best possible marketing.

So much DC news today. Its been a good one
FordEl

@Emblemmaniac

Then talk of the movie will be drowned out. Putting it in front of Mad Max is the smarter choice.

I don't get this talk about BvS and Mad Max not being in the same demographic? They seem more hand in hand than say BvS and AOU; they're both even from the same studio.

@FordEl Don't forget Marvel likely announcing the Civil War cast once AoU hits theaters and with production starting tomorrow, literally. Marketing is really damn tricky (we're looking at you TASM2!)

@MarkyMarkRises Mad Max is rated R though.

True; but the fact remains that Mad Max will be one of WB's most heavily marketed/popular film of 2015, so it makes sense from a financial standpoint.

Dude theyre not gonna drop the BvS trailer along with another highly anticipated trailer. They dont want to share the attention, it just wouldnt be smart. There's a reason teo big movies arent released on the same weekend. "Mad Max" will be a hit and dropping BvS there will increase a lot of revenue at least in the first weekend, because people are dying to see it.

@MarkyMarkRises.

The major demographic for movies like Mad Max, is movies like Terminator... Are there some that watch comicbookmovies as well. Sure, but that is not the main people.

And BvS and AoU not go hand in hand with eachoter? While those are from those diffrent studios, one is the biggest comicbookmovie, and probably the biggest movie this year with even bigger opening because of the starwars trailer... And you don't want to have it on the movie that will spread the word of it the most???

@FordEl

I don't think so
Reasonnnn
Reasonnnn - 3/31/2015, 5:53 PM
@MarkyMarkRises most definitely, plus the trailer might hit online midnight of May 15 (when Mad Max debuts).

Putting BvS will put some asses in AOU the difference wouldn't be significant in the BO but I doubt WB would want to put anyone's ass in there instead of Mad Max.

@CIAGuy Disney won't allow BvS trailers appearing in front of AoU screenings. Every studio does this to counteract the opposing blockbusters.

attach this trailer with Mad Max because Fury Road looks incredible and you just may have a sleeper hit WB.

Just because he prehaps have heard it from a "source" and is not meant to be a aprilfools joke, it does not mean that this is true..

They'll release it online a day prior anyway. It really doesn't matter what movie it's attached too
TheRationalNerd

I say release it around mid-late May. Let the Avengers have their fun kicking Ultron's a** in all directions and then release the trailer after all the hype has died down a bit. lol

MarkyMarkRises - 3/31/2015, 5:56 PM
@Emblemmaniac

I really don't know how "buying a trailer slot" would work, but it seems way too expensive to buy a slot with AOU for a movie a year away
