The CW has confirmed that they've given a full series order to DC's Legends of Tomorrow. A pilot hasn't even been shot yet, but they're clearly expecting it to be as big a hit as Arrow and The Flash. The superhero team-up will star Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heatwave), and Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein/one half of Firestorm) from The Flash, along with Arrow's Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/the Atom and Caity Lotz, presumably returning as Sara Lance/The Canary. New additions include Ciara Renee, Franz Drameh, and Arthur Darvill.
According to the official synopsis, "When heroes alone are not enough ... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
A trailer has been shot for the spinoff which is expected to be shown at the upfronts.
Behind the scenes, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is executive produced by Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim.
Who could be the immortal threat that the team are tasked to take on? We'll have to wait and see, but this show is sounding great. Share your thoughts below!
