THE FLASH: Despite The Shocking Events Of The Finale, [SPOILER] Will Return In Season Two

Tonight's amazing finale of The Flash featured a number of shocking moments and departures, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg talks here about the fact that a certain someone will still be a regular in season two and that they're planning on introducing more Speedsters...

Time travel is a confusing thing, but tonight's season finale of The Flash saw Eddie Thawne commit suicide in order to wipe Eobard/Reverse-Flash out of existence. Before disappearing, the villain returned to being Eobard, so does this now mean that the real Harrison Wells is alive and well? As I said, time travel isn't easy to get your head around, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Tom Cavanagh will return in season two as a regular cast member. That's great news, regardless of whether he's Thawne or Wells!

However, after we got a glimpse of Jay Garrick's helmet, it sounds like plans are in place for him and others to enter this world. "We are going to introduce a few more speedsters next year and a bunch more villains," he reveals. "How they and those villains come about is part of the surprise of season two. We're really excited. [Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and myself and [executive producer] Geoff Johns and the writers, the cast, the crew, the directors — we are so proud of this season of television. It really is a high mark for all of us and we feel a great deal of pressure and anxiety to live up to it, because it's been so well received. As proud as excited as we are about everything we've done this year, we really are just as proud and excited for all the things we are planning coming up and hopefully people will continue to take this ride with us."

What did you guys think of The Flash finale? Where has Barry Allen gone? And what do you think that ending means for season two? As always, share your thoughts and theories below.

So, does Eobard being wiped out of existence by Eddie mean that he never killed Barry's mother? I'm guessing no, but it's interesting that he turned from Wells to Thawne before disappearing. [frick]ing time travel...amazing finale regardless!

We all know who is coming for season 2!

I'm pretty sure Eddie isn't truly dead. Especially with the producers confirming that Eobard is still coming back. My guess is that when he was sucked up by the (SPEED FORCE CREATED) portal he received the powers of Cobalt Blue!

So Eobard never was born, therefore never finished off Wells. Great use of wibbly wobbly timey wimey storylines.

Any word on what day LoT will air? I doubt the CW wants to compete with Monday Night Football or Thursday Night Football in the fall.

Thawne wasn't erased from existence, it was merely the alternate Thawne that was erased. The one that looked like Wells. When Eddie killed himself, he changed the timeline. Notice how nothing was changed other than Eobard. If Eobard never existed, then the current timeline wouldn't exist. It's a cyclical paradox. Therefore, the creation of a primary Eobard, one who still is the Reverse Flash but doesn't have the memories of the one that just disappeared.

Here is theory 2.
Eddie survives and becomes Cobalt Blue through the speed force portal he went through and comes back to kill the Flash that after going through the speed force he saw that he was Barry's twin and was "abandoned" by his family but Barry wasn't.
