I'm getting tired of Aliens as villains, especially the ones pretending to be peaceful. Such a worn out trope.

I THINK this series takes place in the five year gap between the JL origin arc (first six issues) and the present new 52 time line

WTF is up with Batman and Aquaman?

@NicolausCopernicus is right. It takes place during the 5 year gap.

Hopefully we finally learn what happened between the JL and Martian Manhunter.

Can anyone recommend some good JLA stories? I'm really into Batman, but have always been more a Marvel fan. I have found DC and JLA harder to pick up and read then marvel titles, but I want to give JLA a real chance. Where to begin and what is a good sequential order of good stories?

I am not a fan of this guy's art.

@orpheus
You should check out Grant Morrison's run on JLA for starters. And then I'd read the classics like Kingdom Come and The New Frontier

@orpheus

Go to Amazon and type in JLA and buy all of Morrison and Waid's volumes. Best JLA series.

Also an Elseworld story but the New Frontier is pretty good if you're in to nostalgia and a more 40s-50s JL.

Jeez man, plagiarize much? Here's the original write up from DC comic's official website. It's almost word for word what Wilding put.

How about putting it in your own words next time!

Second Grant Morrison's run on JLA, it's pure class.

Some people don't like GM because a lot of his stuff is kind of whacky, but with the JLA run, most of it he played fairly straight, and showed he's perfectly capable of writing really well in a "traditional" comic style.

I really wish DC/Warners would hire Grant Morrison to helm the movie stuff, I'm pretty sure he'd do it right, but more importantly, do it with love and respect.

The JL are bendy.

And I still hate that Superman suit.

That's an awesome cover. Too bad the New 52 has to use Iron Man Lite instead of a plethora of awesome DC characters.

"Justice League of America" sounds so fvcking corny

Why are they still using it?

@orph..I was in same boat as you. Old school marvel fan. New 52 bat man is awesome. Just read night of the owls. And green laturen sinestro corps war was good too. Reading rebirth and secret origins now. A lot of people on this site helped me connect everything together n I thank them all again. So let me pass it forward. Just started reading DC myself.

About this article, I'm a semi fan of hitch. Like his detail and roughness to his art, but like other comments I'm Reading, his positions sometimes fail. And his faces are sometimes too extreme. Positive not, love his WW, and bat man suit design...and the locking cover looks awesome as a whole. Reminds me of Jim Lee x men.

Hitch on JL? Awesome! His and Waid's run on JL previously was fantastic.
As for the Martian Manhunter, he should have been in the League! if you need to have some diversity, that's fine because the Manhunter is a Black man in one of his identities.
