It's an argument which has been raging for years; who shot first - Han Solo or Greedo? The theatrical version of Star Wars indicated that it was the former, but George Lucas' alterations to his movies has made things less clear, with Greedo now shown to be the one who shoots first. The filmmaker has defended that a number of times, claiming that it was always his intention for Greedo to pull the trigger before Han, but it seems like we may now have a definitive answer.

According to CBC (via The Playlist), the original script - dated March 15th, 1976 - for Star Wars: A New Hope has been found in the University of New Brunswick library. It's believed to be the fourth draft, but there are some changes like Luke Skywalker being "Luke Starkiller". Regardless, librarian Kristian Brown claims that, "Based on the script, I can tell you 100 per cent, Han shot first."

Does this settle the argument? Not really, as Lucas could have changed his mind during shooting for all we know! This does at least show that Han was originally intended to shoot first though, but don't expect answers from Harrison Ford while he's promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens this December. Asked about who shot first last year, the actor said: "I don’t know and I don’t care."
