Marvel And Sony's Hunt For SPIDER-MAN Is Now Down To These TWO Actors

Earlier today, we heard that Asa Butterfield is out of the running to play Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, a new report now reveals the two actors who are finalists, one of whom wasn't mentioned in by The Wrap's Jeff Sneider. Hit the jump for details...

While Asa Butterfield may now be out of the running to play Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Birth.Movies.Death reports that Marvel and Sony's hunt is now down to just two actors. Those are Tom Holland (The Impossible) and Charlie Rowe (Never Let Me Go). The latter wasn't mentioned in the report from earlier today, but was said to be testing for the role last month.

The site adds that there is actually no real dispute between Marvel and Sony over the casting; instead, both parties are just "exhibiting a lot of caution" when it comes to finding the right actor to introduce as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. A reporter from Variety appears to have also confirmed that it's down to these two, so here's hoping we hear something official soon.

This seems to take Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz out of the running, and like The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield, the next wall-crawler is once again going to be an Englishman...

I'm trusting their decision. Marvel Studios have always made great casting decisions.

Tom Holland was great in The Impossible
But these two are too good looking, Asa Butterfield was the only one out of the contenders who looked like a genuine nerdy, awkward guy.

Wait where did Rowe come from I though he was out???? And are people really saying that they're "too good looking" its the same ridiculous complaint people had with Leto being casted as the joker

This site "BIRTH. MOVIES. DEATH" belongs to Devin Faraci, the worst journalist in the world, so that's probably BULLSHIT!

This foo foo said "too good looking" to play him. Peter isnt exactly an ugly guy, and being geeky and being good looking have no correlation and should not factor into the casting whatsoever. Thats why they are ACTORS.

Good. These are both good choices as far as looking like Peter Parker, and not like a 5 year old. From here, I don't think I care.

"CHARLIE ROWE!!"
I agree, Charlie looks very reminiscent of what Peter should look like: kind of a wall flower, but still a little handsome for the ladies(Joking, but he is portrayed as a muscular hunk in the 80's portion of comics, sooo). All they go to do is give him some glasses and make him look like an outcast without overdoing it.

There's something wrong with this article; neither of those actors are Donald Glover.
