HAWKGIRL TV Series Reportedly In Development At The CW
The CW may have passed on Supergirl, but it appears as if they've set their sights on another superhero TV show with a female lead. According to a new report, Legends of Tomorrow character Hawkgirl is expected to get her own series, so hit the jump for further details...
We only caught a glimpse of Hawkgirl in the trailer for DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but The CW clearly has big plans for the character who first appeared for a split second in the season finale of The Flash. According to Spoiler TV, the network is planning a separate series starring Hawkgirl which will see Ciara Renée reprise the role. When the actress was first cast, the character of Kendra Saunders was described as a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.
The site goes on to point out that the project is still in the very early stages of development, but add that "If The CW decides to move forward with it, it will most likely bypass the pilot stage and get a straight to series order." There's no word on whether it would be set before of after the events of Legends of Tomorrow, but this is a show with a ton of potential, especially if it leads to Hawkman joining her! Here's hoping we hear more at Comic-Con. Would you guys tune in to Hawkgirl?
