Did Bryan Singer Just Confirm GAMBIT For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Appearance?

Bryan Singer has Tweeted out a photo of him and Channing Tatum at the San Diego Comic-Con this past Saturday, and it appears as if the X-Men: Apocalypse director is hinting that the actor is set to appear as Gambit in the movie. Or is he? We'll let you decide after the jump...

In case you missed the text at the bottom of the image below because your eyes became transfixed on Channing Tatum's handsome mug, it reads: "Always wanted to work with this guy! ;) #XMen #Gambit". Is that an indication that Gambit will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse? It's already been rumoured that he will, and Bryan Singer must have know that ";)" and hashtags would cause some speculation! He could of course be referring to a future X-Men movie, but we're just going to have to wait and see. It really all just depends on what era Rupert Wyatt's Gambit movie is set in.

As well as returning cast members Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, and a number of others. The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016. What do you think about the chances of a Gambit cameo?

Always wanted to work with this guy! ;) #XMen #Gambit @channingtatum

I'm just excited to see what Rupert Wyatt does with the Gambit film. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was near perfect. Since he was announced, this movie shot up my list of anticipation.

Huge Tatum fan. Foxcatcher, the Jump Street films, and especially the Magic Mike films. Great physical actor obviously, could definitely do a lot of his own stunts and will sell the action really well.

@KurtWagner1225 Check out Wyatt's debut film, THE ESCAPIST, on Netflix (if you haven't already). It's BETTER than Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

THE GAMBLER was a bit of a misfire, doesn't really have a purpose or message. Mark Wahlberg as an English professor just doesn't work, haha.

Rupert Wyatt tackling this has me so intrigued.

He's too big to be Gambit.
Also why is it that Bryan Singer is ALWAYS releasing tidbits and new quotes or spoilers just when another movie of the same year is getting a lot of press? This guy gets on my nerves.

Tatum is 6' and Gambit is 6'1....so actually he's too small ;)

I'd rather he be in whatever time period that Deadpool takes place in. Gambit would fit in very well in the Deadpool "adult" X-Universe and I think it would cater itself to Channing's strengths too. He and Reynolds would be pretty damn good together.

A team of Deadpool, Gambit, Colossus, and a sassy true-to-form Rogue would be outstanding.

@KurtWagner1225 Who knew that the post-credits scene of 2008's Iron Man will lead to all of this?

Made Fox step up their game and made Warner Bros. tap into their non-Batman heroes.
