"Now Playing" TV Spot For ANT-MAN Features A Bunch Of Scenes Which Weren't In The Movie

A new TV spot for Marvel's Ant-Man is full of footage we should probably expect to see on the Blu-ray release of the Marvel movie as Scott Lang and his fellow thieves celebrate in ridiculous style after using the suit to win big at a casino. Hit the jump to check it out...

Some kids storybooks recently revealed that after stealing Hank Pym's Ant-Man suit, Scott Lang gets his hands on a lot of money by trying to rig the lottery and manipulating some dice at a casino. We get a taste of the latter in the TV spot below, and if you've seen the movie, you'll know that Scott returned the suit as soon as he tries it out for the first time and doesn't reveal his newfound abilities to his buddies until the final act. Such a major change is obviously the result of reshoots and this alteration - which is for the best as it makes Scott a more sympathetic character - no doubt came around the time the synopsis went from calling the character a "con man" to "master thief".

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, John Slattery, and Hayley Atwell, Ant-Man is now playing in theaters worldwide.

Really? Pratically none of that was in the actual movie. Shit like that is acceptable when the marketing first starts cause at that point they may not know what will be in the movie and what won't, but to pull that kind of shit now? That's almost like false advertising. I remember when sony pulled this same kind of shit with TASM 2. I mean if you know the scene isn't in your movie you can't use it to pull people in to see the movie.

@Mrcool210

You're kidding right? This is just fun and all to get a laugh. It's even funnier because none of that was in the theatre. It's selling the Tone of the film, I doubt anyone would be upset that wasn't in the movie

@mercwithmouth

You should take out a business loan and open a movie theater. 2 hours to go to the movies is ridiculous. Make it a high-end theater with leather recliners and alcohol.

Not enough people in my town for it to be successful. Plus I kinda like the drive. I got a brand new car 2 weeks ago and it's great for driving and toking.

@mercwithmouth

What about a town in between? Are you telling me there's nothing but Canadian wilderness for 2 hours between your town and the movie theater?

@blackandyellow

There's a bunch of towns between mine and the closest theatre. Problem is their populations are mainly less than 250 people. My town is about 1600 and it's considered a large town.

I'm asking what the point is because none of these scenes are in the actual movie that is currently playing before audiences.

More false advertising from Marvel.

@Omarvls,

Calm the f.uck down, already. Nobody is jumping for joy at the thought of Ant-Man failing. I haven't seen one person celebrating any imagined failure.

I do see a lot of overcompensating for a movie that's, at best, average.

[frick]in' Canada, man. 250 people? There's literally more murders than that per year in Detroit, which is amazing considering that city is practically abandoned.
