First GOTHAM Season Two Promos Tease New Villains, 'The Joker', And The Batcave

Fox has released the first two promos for Gotham's second season, and they feature lots of new snippets of footage (including a smiling Jerome, a.k.a The Joker), as well as the young Bruce Wayne and his loyal butler Alfred heading down into the soon to be Batcave...

We're yet to see a trailer for season two of Gotham, but there is at least some new footage from the series in these first promos (released via The Hollywood Reporter). The theme of the show this Fall is clearly going to be all about the bad guys, but with Bruce Wayne talking here about his "true calling", we might just end up seeing his transformation into a vigilante sooner than expected. Check them both out below and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

WTF, there's already a Cave and a passcode?

I wish they would just jump ahead 15-20 years, then I'd watch this, Batman even existed in Gotham Central the comic this is based on

That cliffhanger still has me in suspense. What did Thomas use the cave for, and who alive knows about it?

I really hope this season is better than the last one. I stuck with it hoping it would be like Agents of Shield, but it didn't really get much better. The show has some great stuff in it like Riddler and Penguin, though the latter got a little over the top near the end. And the chemistry between Gordon and Bullock is good, but the writing needs to improve. Here's hoping this season corrects the mistakes of the first one.

As someone who loves Batman more than any other comic book character, this is so very depressing.

Agreed Doc...Waaaaay to early for him to be creating the whole batman moniker. It'd be awesome if they flashed forward every season like 5 years.

Regardless ill still watch it..last season was kinda fun in many ways.

Should have made the show into a live action version of Batman: Year One

It does kind of make sense that Bruce would find out there's a giant ass cave underneath his home at an early age. Still, wtf.

Last season was pretty good, except for the stupid fiancee bullshit and that season finale.

But I like this show for how kitschy it is. In this universe, Batman didn't draw all the crazies to Gotham. They were already there. Gotham was so f.ucked up it created a Batman.

If only this show had decent writing, I'd be excited.

The writing is bad, but the acting is so great and old school that I forgive it. And even with the bad dialogue and episodic writing, the main arcs are pretty intricate stuff, loaded with easter eggs for things to come.
They have my attention.

A lot of people didn't notice how much Bane set up there was in the first season. They've laid a ton of groundwork for the origin of both that character and his favorite drug.

@MyloSteamwitz

OR MAYBE

The people who hate on this show, like you, simply can't wrap their heads around the idea of an Elseworlds tale.

I like this show because I love the tone, the lore, and the actors. And I've been a Batman fan since I was a toddler, long before the Nolan movies.

So take your pretentious crap and get outta here.

I completely agree. It may not be very faithful but it's a great watch.

Nobody's making a 12 year old Batman. In the comic, Bruce was 10 when he found the cave, so he's actually behind schedule in the show.

People like to give them crap for focusing on Batman, Superman and Justice League, but they forget sales of Wonder Woman and Green Lantern: First Flight are what lead them to this.

He fell through a hole in the yard originally. But later he did find out that there was an access tunnel to the cave inside the mansion that was once used to hide fugitive slaves. Thomas Wayne just used this area as storage. So it's still close to how it went down.
