Both Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy have previously expressed interest in returning as Magneto and Professor X once their contract comes to an end with X-Men: Apocalypse, and it now appears as if Channing Tatum's Gambit deal wasn't the only one closed by Fox this weekend. According to a new report, the duo have reportedly signed on to reprise their respective roles in future X-Men movies. So, both characters clearly survive the events of the 2016 movie anyway!
The franchise wouldn't be the same without them, and while it's not clear how many more movies Fassbender and McAvoy will star in, we obviously haven't seen the last of the two mutant friends turned enemies in Fox's X-Men Universe. It's also mentioned that Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence are wanted by the studio to return as Beast and Mystique, but as has been previously reported, the latter seems unlikely to commit. Take this with a pinch of salt until we hear something more concrete, but how do you feel about the prospect of more Magneto and Professor X?
