It's obvious he was gonna be a jedi. They had to set up a new jedi hero. It couldn't just be Luke. Luke will prob train him. That speech in the trailer is probably luke talking to finn...a stormtrooper who discovers he has a link to the force is interesting. BLACK JEDI HELL YEA...sorry Sam Jackson, your death still hurts me

I'd rather have a "garbage" poster like this than some photoshopped nightmare cobbled together in an hour

While the art is nice I assume this is only a teaser for the final poster given that there are only 4 oddly placed characters on it

I understand that this is merely an exclusive for the Expo, but I truly hope this confirms Kylo Ren to be a Skywalker.

So, Finn is a Jedi?! What the heck does that mean? Obviously it means (at the very least) that he's Force Sensitive, but I thought for sure that Daisy Ridley's character was going to be the Force user here.

@Christuffer

Maybe Finn is an apprentice to Luke or, if Luke created the New Jedi Order, one of the Jedi on a mission to discover information on the remaining Empire forces. Maybe we discover that she is force sensitive and he begins to teach her in the ways of the force.

No idea who the [frick] Drew Struzan is, so I'm just gonna play it cool.

"Obviously it means (at the very least) that he's Force Sensitive"

Wrong. Nothing "obvious" about anything other than his character is black, and was once wearing a Storm Trooper suit. That's where anything obvious stops.

Try to remember that Han Solo also wielded a saber in TESB. Used it to carve open that Taun-Taun, remember? Does this mean that Solo is a Jedi? Nope.

And according to Star Wars mythos, EVERYTHING ALIVE is "Force sensitive". Some just more than others, and some WAY more than others, but all living things contain mitichlorians (sp?) and thus Force sensitive.

Just because we see Finn wielding a saber doesn't mean he's a Jedi or a Sith. It means that homeboy picked it up and turned it on. The end. You're just projecting at this point that he is or isn't something (a Jedi).

I could easily explain that drawing away by saying that it is taken after he discovers the saber, and he meets up with Rey, and they are just about to flee the planet when they encounter the Storm Trooper squad that has been pursuing them and he lights that bad boy up in defence. Still doesn't mean he knows how to use the thing.

I'm not saying he is NOT a Jedi. I'm saying that just because one holds a lit saber doesn't automatically mean they are a Jedi/Sith. It means that they held a lit saber. Nothing more.

Just like Han did.

So no, nothing at all "obvious" about this poster.

@pesmerga44

Perhaps. I was sort of hoping that Domhnall Gleeson was going to be the new star Jedi in this movie, but first we figure out that he's in the Empire, and now Finn is a Jedi (and let's face it, he's not Caucasian, so he's clearly not the child of Han and Leia, or Luke). I'm intrigued...if Luke picked up another apprentice as you suggest, that would be awesome.
