Not too much work put into these, but hey, it's just promo art. Cool stuff.

I gotta say, just as a completely random aside, that I'm a little bit disappointed that Daisy Ridley isn't the Jedi in this movie. Finn, just going from the trailers released so far, seems like the out-of-his-element Everyman character who's getting flung about the galaxy and dumped into a world he doesn't fully understand, but Ridley's character seems to have her wits about her. She seems cool, she seems competent... she seems like the kind of person who should be wielding a lightsaber in this film, not Finn.

Honestly, I'm kinda hoping that Finn picking up the saber in that recent teaser and on the poster is, like, a last-ditch desperation thing, NOT an "I'm training to be a Jedi and I know how to use this" thing. I'm hoping it's literally a situation where Finn is cornered, and the only means of defending himself he has is the 'saber-- which, in and of itself, would make the fight interesting, because we have NEVER seen a non-Jedi character try to fight with a lightsaber.

Anyway, just a thought. This promo art is lame, incidentally. But then, all promo art is.

That's best type of protagonist though.

Wait aren't the comics canon? If so isn't Chewy supposed to be dead?

Probably promo art for the toys. Usually merchandising promo art sucks.

Don't worry. He isn't, and she is.

@hardxcorexchamp

None of the old comics or novels are canon, so Chewie ain't dead.

I really wanted Rey and not Finn to be a Jedi... I hope that staff turns out to be one.

Just because Finn uses the lightsaber doesn't mean he's Jedi. Non Jedi's have used them before in both canon and non canon. People just forget about Han Solo slicing open a Tauntaun.

That's a fair point. Non-Jedi can and have used light-sabers, but I don't know any non-jedi to light-saber fight (I'm assuming) a sith lord.... in training? Like Finn seems to be doing with Kylo Ren in the latest teaser. Although, I agree we will most likely have to see the film to know for sure.
