Benicio Del Toro May Not Be Playing The Villain In STAR WARS EPISODE VIII After All

In a recent interview, Guardians of the Galaxy star Benicio del Toro appeared to confirm that he will be playing a villain in Star Wars Episode VIII. The actor is now backtracking on those comments however, and so he may be on the side of the Resistance after all...

Benicio Del Toro has already confirmed that we'll see him in Star Wars Episode VIII, but it sounds like he may not be as villainous as we all assumed after an interview which saw the actor seemingly confirm that he'll be playing a bad guy in the 2017 release. "I don't know if he's a villain," Del Toro teases in the video above. "People are saying that, but it's like they read a different script than I read. It's nice to keep people in the dark, a little bit of mystery is good. If they want to believe it’s the villain, then good." It could be that this is a bit of damage control on the Sicario star's part, but it's also possible that his character's allegiances won't be as black and white as some of the other heroes and villains of the Star Wars franchise. What do you guys think about his comments?

He's the behind the scenes real villain and just spoiled the last 15 minutes of the movie for you.

I still can't believe we're going to see Benicio Del Toro (hopefully) wielding a light saber. That's too epic to imagine.

Maybe he's playing the "antagonist" but his reasons and motivations may paint him not to be such a "villain"?

Pretty sure he'll end up being the leader of The Knights of Ren? No? The Emperor-ish type of character.

Maybe they shun both the Jedi and the Sith for being too narrow minded with the Force. I don't know. Just a thought.

So Kylo Ren will become an anti hero at the end of Star Wars The Force Awakens.

@AlexanderLykins

I hear ya. Lived in Nashville the last 12 years, so a lot of my buddies are huge Titans fans. They haven't been good during the majority of that time, but they're finally showing signs of righting the ship with Mariotta at the wheel.

And they have some of the sweeter unis in the NFL, just wish they have red facemasks like the old Oilers helmets.

@AlexanderLykins - "Mariota is the truth."

He's definitely off to a fantastic start to his NFL career! The TB defense was a nice opponent to get his feet wet in the league, he'll face a lot better defenses moving forward.

I told my buddies they need to sell Titans colored Hawaiian Leis at Nissan Stadium, they'd make a killing!! hahaha
