Sebastian Stan has been doing the rounds to promote The Martian recently, and Captain America: Civil War has inevitably come up a fair bit. That's obviously good news for us, and while the actor obviously hasn't been able to reveal too much about what we should expect from the 2016 movie, Stan had some very interesting things to say about his past, present, and future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Asked whether he knew the plan for Bucky since day one, the actor said:

"It was a lot more like that. You know, I was in an office with Kevin Feige at one point and I remember they were educating me. I didn’t know anything. I didn’t grow up with comic books. I didn’t know anything about it. So, they were educating me about it going, “This is what happens with Bucky, he becomes The Winter Solider.” And I was nodding my head and taking it in going, “Okay, this is cool, but are you talking to me like I have this part of The Winter Soldier? Are you saying I should be excited? And actually earlier this year when Kevin came to the set of Civil War, I actually asked him, “How does it feel to come to this set and watch these people?” And he said to me straight, “Yeah, we were talking about it, but the truth is we didn’t know we going to be able to do it.” They didn’t really know they were going to be able to get to do Civil War. They didn’t even know they were going to be able to do The Winter Soldier."

As for that Captain America: Civil War scene at the end of Ant-Man, Stan admitted that it came as a surprise, but admitted that it was a relief for it to reveal that Bucky will be on Team Cap in the movie. "They told us about it two or three days before," he revealed. "They are like, “Oh, by the way, there’s going to be this thing.” And at that point, it was great just seeing any footage from the movie that was shot." Are you looking forward to finding out what's next for Bucky? Should he become Captain America after Steve Rogers? As always, let us know your thoughts below...

Stan has done a fantastic job as Bucky. Really want a Netflix show of him doing spy stuff.

I bet they give Steve Rogers a break and let Bucky take over the Cap mantle for the start of Infinity Wars.

I honestly would prefer they just keep him as Winter Soldier, I don't think he has the commanding presence of Cap, or the moral compass.

@TheEpicJuicebox I agree civil war should've been much bigger, like a mini infinity war. Should have at least thrown in the marvel street level heroes. Daredevil,Punisher,Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.
