Marvel Seemingly Teases CIVIL WAR With AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Promo Image
Ahead of the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron on DVD and Blu-ray in North America, Marvel has put together a very interesting promo image which indicates that the rift caused by James Spader's robotic villain in the sequel could be the spark that ignites Civil War in the MCU...
Bafflingly, Marvel has yet to release so much as a single official image from Captain America: Civil War. It could be that Disney want to focus on Star Wars: The Force Awakens right now, with leaked promo art our only real glimpse at the highly anticipated threequel to date. So, as you might expect, this promo image reuses artwork from Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, the fact that this was accompanied on Twitter with, "What Ultron tore asunder will never be truly healed," may indicate that this is an early piece of marketing for Marvel's first Phase 3 movie. What do you think?
Captain America: Civil War plot picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil Waris set to be released on May 6th, 2016.
