BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN — Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death.  Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own.  When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Gabrielle Stanton.

Not sure that I'm digging this... hope it all works out storywise but if there were issues with Amell, I'd have rather they recast than change the character. It feels that Ronnie, who's a major enough DC character to matter, just hasn't been around long enough.

It had BETTER be revealed that he's actually playing Jason Rusch. I HATE it when live-action comic adaptations introduce characters that are BASICALLY the same as a character from the comics, but give them a different name for no particular reason. Like Detective Ramirez in The Dark Knight (Renee Montoya), Jen in The Dark Knight Rises (Holly Robinson), Mr. Blank in Arrow (Onomatopoeia), etc. etc.

Yeah, I know that they already introduced a Jason Rusch played by a different actor last season. But there's no reason they couldn't just openly recast-- like they did with Sara Lance in season two of Arrow.

Ok when will Hollywood and TV networks finally get the balls to stop trying to be politically correct and stop changing character parts that were originally a white person playing it and make it a black person?

@Unclerico if this character is truly jason rusch, then it's not changing a white character black, rusch is a black firestorm in the comics. He's an original character in DC
