CIVIL WAR Is The End Of The CAPTAIN AMERICA Trilogy Says Kevin Feige

Iron Man 3 seemingly brought that franchise to an end for the time being, and it now appears as if Captain America: Civil War will be bringing down the curtain on Steve Rogers' solo adventures too. Is he making it into Infinity War alive? Hit the jump for details...

There's been a lot of fretting from fans about Captain America: Civil War putting too much focus on characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man (who would have guessed we'd be mentioning him in this sentence a year ago?), with the titular superhero being put on the back burner as a result. Well, worry not, as Steve Rogers is still going to be the star of what is now sounding like the end of his solo adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Could Cap's story be at an end?

"It’s very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige explained at a recent Q&A to promote the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron on DVD and Blu-ray. "I think one day you’ll look back and watch — ’Captain America: The First Avenger,’ ’Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ and ’Captain America: Civil War’ — and it’ll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character." Should we all be worried?

These comments are very interesting, especially as the Civil War comic book ended with the death of Captain America. Could the trilogy which kicked off with his birth be brought to a close with his demise, leading to a new series of movies focusing on another hero wielding the shield? That remains to be seen (especially as there's nothing to say Chris Evans won't be talked into another solo outing as part of Phase 4), but be sure to let us know your thoughts and theories below...

No Dead Cap

Steve Rogers needs to live, I'd be down for a Reborn type thing eventually, but Rogers still has a lot to do, imo

I think he'll get promoted to Major and retire at the end.

@jeight

I doubt thats gonna be anytime soon since he said if Marvel wants him to continue to have him as Cap after Infinity War, they got him.

Cap's not dying. He'll just take the lead in the Avengers films.

I have a feeling all the original Avengers will either be dead or out of commission for Infinity War Part 1, only to make their triumphant returns in Part 2 along with the GOTG, Netflix characters and the Agents of Shield.

I have a hard time believing Marvel and Disney have plans to to stop making Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movies for any real significant amount of time. I mean what happens if Black Panther and Captain Marvel underperform? Just stop making Mavel movies or do you go back to the top tier characters? You can always just start a new trilogy.

It could be the best superhero trilogy. It's in their hands to [frick] up or make it so.

Evans is great as Cap. He has made the character more relatable and likeable than ever. The cartoons always play him up like Superman, but he's always been a down to Earth guy, just with a very strong sense of justice and morality. I wouldn't mind seeing an arc where Evans retires as Cap, Bucky picks up the SHIELD and he and Falcon and Widow and Hawkeye have an adventure, with Steve in charge of this new group, like a splinter Avenger/SHIELD group, a secret avengers if you will. I'd add Black Panther, and Ant-Man to the group too. No powers, just people and tech.

I have a feeling Captain America/Steve Rogers will turn himself in at the end of this movie and relinquish his position as Captain America. I doubt they will kill him off totally.

Something is either unique or not unique. There are no variations or modifiers need.

First off, Cap did t die at the end of the Civil War comic, he died IN HIS OWN BOOK. Brubaker killed him off in a storyline tied to Civil War, but it was his own book.

Cap at the end of Civil War allows himself to be arrested.

@ Barchiel

Isaac Perlmutter was the one responsible for the recasting of actors. He no longer has any say over the MCU. He kind of forced some of the MCU actors into leaving so he could recast them for cheaper actors.

One of their greatest trilogies. If TFA was done in the style of Saving Private Ryan it would've easily been right up there with the greatest Superhero trilogies of all time. But Civil War being the end of the trilogy easily gives it a wild card.
