BOX OFFICE: ANT-MAN Look Set To Hit $450 Million Worldwide After Huge Opening In China

The latest figures are in for Ant-Man's debut at the Chinese box office, and the movie which stars Scott Lang is performing even better than expected. With an estimated haul of $17 million on Saturday, its two day total has risen to $29.8 million, and it looks set to bring in $44 million for the weekend. To put this in context for you, Guardians of the Galaxy made $30.07 million during its opening weekend in China and went on to gross over $96 million in the country, so Ant-Man looks set to do similar numbers (possibly more). That means the final Phase 2 movie should easily sail past the $500 million mark by the end of its box office run, a great result for Marvel Studios and something which easily justifies their decision to recently announce Ant-Man and The Wasp

AntMan seems to be breaking out in China currently and the WOM is great.

Its current projection is $120M - $130M.

If it outgrossed IM3 ($122M), it will become the highest CBM in China after Ultron.

This movie was good. Ant-man did Ant-man stuff. Can't wait to see how Reed finishes the story.

@Omarvls I agree with your assessment. Even if a marvel movie is mediocre (MEDIOCRE!!!) I've still enjoyed and own them all. Sure, the mcu could do with less jokes as some people point out but phase 3 looks legit so far.

Really looking forward to Deadpool, Apocalypse, and Suicide Squad, too. Good time to be a cbm fan.

Dat netflix doe. Dayum
