X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Sequel May Shoot In 2017; Will Bryan Singer Return?
With Bryan Singer taking aim at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea once he's finished working on X-Men: Apocalypse, the future of the X-Men franchise is unclear right now. However, if a new report is to be believed, we'll get another instalment in 2018...
There's still six months or so to go until the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, but Journal De Montreal - the site that broke the news that next year's instalment is heading back to Montreal for reshoots - claims to have some details on the future of the franchise. They state that the X-Men will be back in the city in early 2017 with Bryan Singer at the helm. If that's true, the filmmaker will need to get 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea wrapped pretty sharpish, but it makes sense that Fox are going to want another instalment of this franchise in cinemas by 2018. If this report is accurate, it's easier to imagine Singer taking on the role of a producer as the franchise shifts focus to the younger characters with a new filmmaker at the helm, but that's pure speculation at this point, and we'll have to wait and see.
