Kathleen Kennedy Teases Plans To Resurrect STAR WARS 1313 And Live-Action TV Series

Lucasfilm President has revealed that despite being bought by Disney, the studio is still thinking over what to do with scrapped video game Star Wars 1313 and the live-action TV series which apparently has as many as 100 scripts sitting on a shelf somewhere. Read on for details...

As you may recall, there was at one time a Star Wars TV series in the works with the working title of Star Wars: Underworld. George Lucas talked about plans to make as many 400 episodes, while we heard that 100 scripts had already been written. The main problem appeared to be the budget, with a series of this scale not being a realistic endeavour for any TV network. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Boba Fett video game - Star Wars 1313 - was scrapped when Disney bought Lucasfilm and the Expanded Universe was thrown out. However, both of these projects could still become a reality! Asked by /Film about the former, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said: "Interestingly enough, thats an area we’ve spent a lot of time, reading through the material that he developed is something we very much would like to explore." There have been rumours about a Netflix series, so chances are Star Wars: Underworld could live on in some form there or on ABC.

After describing the Star Wars 1313 concept art as "Unbelievable", Kennedy promised that they're at least considering doing something with that IP. "So our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to."

Before, this would've been awesome news. But now, it'll more than likely ruin what would've been an awesome game.

As long as EA is publishing/making these games, I couldn't give any fewer [frick]s.

I always suspected that the Visceral-developed Star Wars game will steal a lot from 1313, since that game essentially looked like a Star Wars version of Uncharted, and the former writer of Uncharted is now writing that game.

We'll probably see more of this at E3 2016.

Cool me old fashioned but I want a "Path of Luke" type game where you play as Luke Skywalker and at times other characters playing through the famous levels from the movie.

Battlefront is partially there, but with the Wii all those years ago I just imagined a first person shooter using the WiiMote as your saber.

Let Rocksteady or Bethesda work on 1313 if it gets resurrected

Star Wars Battlefront is actually great if you enjoy the Call of Duty multiplayer.
Star Wars 1313 needs to be revived that game could be the greatest action-adventure game of all time.

I would love to see a Netflix series about Luke Skywalker after the events of Return of the Jedi.

I hope so. I was looking forward to 1313 before it was cancelled. Hopefully Disney doesn't water the game down for younger audiences.

Also, the existence of 1313 was revealed to be canon in STAR WARS: AFTERMATH.
