Marvel And Netflix Developing THE PUNISHER Starring Jon Bernthal

We'll first meet Frank Castle in Daredevil season two, but it's now been revealed that Netflix and Marvel are developing a spinoff revolving around The Punisher which will see Jon Bernthal's vigilante take centre stage on the online streaming service. Read on for details...

Marvel and Netflix are clearly happy with Jon Benthal's take on The Punisher in season two of Daredevil as TV Line reports that the online streaming service is looking to give a spinoff starring Jon Bernthal the green light. This hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but this comes from an extremely reliable source (it's a sister site to Deadline), so don't be surprised to hear something official soon. The Punisher will join Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, and it's hard not to wonder if Elektra might soon join them! For now though, this is fantastic news and a clear sign that Marvel are taking their reboot of the character very seriously as they look to redeem Frank Castle following a string of failed big screen adaptations. Its been said that The Punisher's origin story will play out in Daredevil season two, so it's obvious that there will be plenty of stories to tell with him once that wraps up! Tell us, are you guys looking forward to this solo spinoff?

So, they announce Punisher, yet have given virtually nothing on Iron Fist, save the showrunner who gave us one of the worst seasons of Dexter.

@Th0rOdinson I really hope they don't. Really enjoy both series but there's way too much filler. It should be 10 episodes.

Okay I'm in. Jessica Jones wasn't my cup of tea but I keep the faith that the netflix shows will follow in the footsteps of DD season 1. That was more up my alley.

Can this new series include Will Simpson from Jessica Jones... I think those two would be a great pairing

I'm in complete agreement @dragonator69, If we get a Moon Knight series, I'll be the happiest man in the world.

@dragonator69 Moon Knight would be wicked. Can't even imagine who can play good ol' Marc Spector.

Maybe Alexander Skarsgard?

@Reasonnnn

Agreed, 10 episodes max.. JJ and DD dragged out towards the end and lost momentum.
Something that would have been a lot more noticeable if aired week to week.

@Reasonnnn Skarsgard would be a good pick; however, I'd like to see Karl urban play the part.

I really hope we get another female-led Netflix show as well. If they want to keep with the street heroes, maybe She-Hulk (hoping Spider-Woman gets a solo movie down the road).

JJ is great. There are some terribly written characters (Robyn) and suffers from being a 13-episode show instead of 10, but it deals with way more complex and matures themes than Daredevil ever could.

@HubbleFunk *high five*

Hopefully they're learning like the MCU did in their early stages. See what works, what doesn't...adapt!

ALSO, GEORGE CONSTANZA AKA JASON ALEXANDER AS MICROCHIP PLZ.

@RatmanAndBobin I love me some Karl Urban. A real shame that Dredd didn't pick up a wider audience.
