Bryan Singer needs to take some notes from this movie on how to make a comic book movie

I love how this marketing campaign blatantly ride the wave of the other superhero movies coming out!

Trailers are trailers and ads are ads, so let's not assume Deadpool is perfect, or even good, movie based on the marketing.

But that is a pretty perfect Deadpool ad. Just about everything that could have been hoped for by anyone who wanted to see the comics on the big screen.

I'm so sick of TJ MIller's analogies about how Deadpool looks. I hope he's cut from the movie.

The Deadpool marketing reminds me of nothing more than the (good) trailer for the original Iron Man. Just a confident, straightforward adaptation that captures the spirit of the character and what they "feel like" on a visceral level.

Deadpool's crotch gesture encapsulates so much of what he's about, just like that final few seconds of Iron Man flying alongside fighter jets does for him. Just pure moments of "Yes, they get it." (Which, regretfully, Marvel has sort of lost sight of in terms of technological groundedness. Iron Man was awesome because it seemed just the other side of plausible, but so few of later movies have really captured that magical feeling... maybe Ant-Man with the shrinking bit).

Also, is that a podracer sound at the very end of the Iron Man trailer? That can't be right.

@Jeight

It may be divisive, but I don't think it will because of that. I think people who are the most vocally anti-humor are generally adopting that stance as part of the studio vs. studio bullshit. I didn't hear the usual suspects complaining about Quicksilver being pretty much just lighthearted comic relief.

And if Deadpool is actually a good, funny and charming movie like it seems it could be, then the vast majority of people who are generally anti-Fox probably won't complain, either.

If it turns out to be bad or just mediocre... well, then all bets are off. I see the potential for a lot of "Foxiness" that tends to spoil even their better movies (especially in the big dumb pointless action department like the Wolverine's third act). I hope I'm wrong though.

This looks awesome. Hopefully the trailers do the movie justice.

From the visuals alone, I would love to see what a Tim Miller X-Men movie would look and feel like

Can't wait for this

Kingsman was the best CBM of 2015 for me, so I have some faith in Fox, even in the aftermath of Fant4stic.

I feel like Fox is giving Miller a lot more freedom with Deadpool which is necessary for the character, and that this movie is really being made for the fans. Hopefully this is successful and they get Miller involved with the X-Men.
