Major Catwoman Related Plot Point Revealed In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Trailer?

Did you spot that potential spoiler in The Dark Knight Rises? What connects Selina Kyle/Catwoman and an important woman from Bruce Wayne's past? Well, hit the jump to take a look for yourselves.

Here's something very interesting spotted over on the Superhero Hype Forums by "frakkingoff". See the pearl necklace that the lovely Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle) is sporting in the new trailer? Does it look familiar? No?! Well, that's what I thought until it was pointed out that it appears to be the exact same necklace that Bruce's mother wore in Batman Begins!

So, what does this reveal? Well, although it looks like Selina is wearing it during her chat with Bruce at the party, it leads us to two possible conclusions. Either it's given to her as a gift (unlikely) or her whole reason for being there is to STEAL it (the far more likely option). Of course, it could just be pure coincidence, and the original was broken when Martha and Thomas were murdered by Joe Chill. Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place. Don't forget to watch the trailer and check out the rest of the hi-res screengrabs by clicking HERE.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

Yup, Joe Chill broke the original necklace in Batman Begins, but Bruce might've picked them up or a Gotham cop might've given them back to him... that or maybe Chris Nolan has a thing for pearl necklaces.
GizmoEl
GizmoEl - 12/19/2011, 12:19 PM
Chill broke the necklace. I think Bruce was a little preoccupied with his parents dying in his arms to go around finding little pearls in a dark alley that went in dozen different directions.

This could be something of a Freudian attempt at getting into Bruce's psyche. Selina could be trying to tap into a very vague but present Oedipal complex that Bruce has towards his mother, implying that Selina knows more about Bruce than we originally thought she did. It may just be nothing but tactical.

Or maybe something far less. Could just be the lady likes pearls.
MarkJulian
MarkJulian - 12/19/2011, 12:23 PM
Notice how the front pearls are bigger than the others. It's the same damn necklace you ornery bastards!

In the trailer she is making a point of admiring the pearls around her neck. That shot would not exist unless it had some significance. Hence the pearls are most likely important, hence they are most likely Bruce's mother's pearls.

Or maybe who care because this trailer is amazing, and Nolan's hidden secrets are crazy...

When has NOlAN ever let coincidences into his movies? You guys are unbelievable, ready to bash any and everything.
hoodedjester
hoodedjester - 12/19/2011, 12:26 PM
WOW - seriously? Someone actually thinks that necklace is the exact same one from when Bruce is a kid. Because there is no way she might just be wearing a different pearl necklace.

My word some people need to get a life and stop putting every single detail from a trailer under a microscope and then calling it a spoiler. Take up a hobby to occupy your time until the movie comes out.

What about the fact that Bruce Wayne is walking around with a cane the entire trailer?

That's a Spoiler! Clear Evidence that Bane will break him physically.

1. Look for the First scene with the Food tray and the view of the cane,
2. Then Wayne walking slowly into the dance hall with the cane and limb,
3. Then while talking with Marion Cotillard he's clearly leaning against the cane not the railing.

Batman Begins:Bruce"All you phonies,you Two-Faced friends"
Two_Face appeared in The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight:Fox-"It'll do fine against CATS"
Catwoman appears in The Dark Knight Rises
^THAT makes sense

not the broken pearls that Bruce went out of his way to collect after the murder and then retrieved from a burning mansion.
