Hmm, I don't really see the point of prose versions of comics, in much the same way I don't see the point of comic adaptations of films. I mean the purpose of a comic book is that it combines storytelling with visual imagery in a way that is intended to be exciting and interesting, removing the art removes a big part of the story's heart.

Great. Because it's not like it didn't play out like a Shakespearean tragedy anyway. Give it the literary treatment it so desperately aches for.

@Sparrowsabre7 I agree, in that I can't wait to see how they adapt the visual element of the comics into literary prose.

Worse case scenario, they simply lift the writing from the pages and add actions and descriptions, rather than the motives and emotions propelling the story at that moment.

After Avengers 3, and the inevitable Justice League movies, the studios will need new directions to go in. CBM's will always be around, but as many of us believe, they're also a trend, that cannot maintain their current level of hype and popularity forever.
Is it conceivable, that down the road, if and when some of these movies stop being as profitable as they are now, that could Marvel strike a deal with Sony or Fox, to allow characters like Spidey and the X-men to team up with Iron Man and Cap, so that we might have movies like Civil War? Let's face it, a Civil War movie would make far more money, than even The Avengers. If and when the trend dies down, the studios sharing the profits, might be the only viable options for the individual properties to stay as profitable as they are now.

Civil War was disappointing: using politics as an excuse to have Marvel heroes continue their altercations with each other is not that interesting to me.

I would like to see House of M go to prose novel format, though.

Before drawing conclusions on a project that hasn't even been hatched, I invite the critics to read some of the Wolverine books written through Simon & Schuster. They did for Wolverine what Nolan did for Batman. It was such a treat to finally see Wolverine be the dark character he truly was.

This might actually make Civil War a lot better...
I accidentally ordered the Novel Version of 'Final Crisis' and was captivated from cover to cover...
When I finally read the comic, I was glad it was from the library and no money was spent on that unintelligible piece of garbage...
especially when full chapters of dialogue and backstory were culled from what in the graphic novel was only a few panels...
so yeah, novel form all the way for huge events with multiple arcs and character motivations... youll be glad you read it once you compare, at least with Final Crisis, I was

I'll definitely be buying that book when it come out. @Knight3000: Word, Marvel, I think should make more animated films like DC has. For instance, Spiderman Edge of Time, I think would be an awesome animated film. The story behind it is what really makes the game play interesting and worth while. Not sure about Civil War in particular, but reading a novel based on the comic has surely gotten my attention.

Civil War is one of my favorite Marvel sagas. definitely a must read if not already done so. This should be interesting.

I liked MCW when I first read it about a year ago, but I do believe it was a bit rushed, still think it would be a cool movie though (Maybe 2017..?)
