Hi-Res Images Of "The Lizard" Bust Give Us Our Best Look At The Villain Yet

On display at the 2012 Toy Fair in New York, these fantastic hi-res images of The Amazing Spider-Man busts offer up a very detailed look at the Lizard, seemingly revealing that he won't have the trademark sharp teeth seen in the comic books.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Fans have already been forced to accept that the Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man will resemble the original Steve Ditko creation rather than the more monstrous version seen in comic books since, but these fantastic new photos courtesy of Cool Toy Review reveal even more details about how he'll look in the movie. Possibly the most disappointing aspect of this design is how, well, normal his teeth look! Unless he undergoes one final mysterious transformation in the movie, it looks like this is the version we'll see on the big screen. Personally, I'm ok with that, but how do you feel about this design? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

What's wrong with his teeth? They're not sharp enough. Hope they aren't like that in the movie.

He looks like Killer Croc from the old Batman cartoon. Or like Goomba from Super Mario Brothers.

I like Tea's Lizard bust a lot better.

Lizard looks perfect in my opinion. Webb and his movie team really put alot of great detail into the character design,always preffered no snout like Ditkos Lizard or Batmans killer croc,cant wait to see what the HotToys figures for this movie look like.

Some of the people here are so dumb...

The reason the Lizard looks the way he does in this movie is so that it looks believable when he talks. Otherwise, if he talks while he has a big snout and ridiculous teeth, it'll just look cartoony.

If he does evolve into the snout monster, I hope he doesn't talk at all in that stage.

@thewolfx wow thats a dumb reaction if you read classic comics like Ditkos legendary run on Spider-Man you would know they nailed the design,he isn't an alligator or shark besides no lab coat which wouldnt be pratical he looks phenomenal one of the best comics to film translations ever.

So how about that comic con footage of The Lizard? He has a snout, or is it another lizard from his army? LOL. Im guessing they decided not to go with a snout.

Wow. Very Ditko-inspired. I like that. Maybe with future Spidey movies, we'll probably see him growing and evolving more and more into the Lizard that we know with the elongated snout and sharp teeth. Just like how the Lizard when he first appeared, he started out having that humanoid-look to him, then further on he evolves into the reptilian, long-snout, Lizard that we mostly know of.
But, that's what I think Sony will do with Lizard further on in future Spidey movies (that is, of course, if he'll star as the Lizard again).

@tea - LoL, you just made my day. Man, where in the hell do you get all of these hot pics? I salute you, good sir. Keep them pics coming. :D

@merrillmind

spare me with your pathetic damage control

this is supposed to be a modern take on the spiderman mythos

so why the [frick] would they not make lizard look menacing

i dont really care if he has a snout our not (even though the snout is much cooler) they give him dentures and not creepy little lizard teeth.

heres a tip though before you make yourself look stupid you might wanna look first .

@checkmate3010

Most people here don't care about the logistics of things.
They just want everything to be ripped straight from the pages of their favorite comics, they still don't realize that film is a totally different medium.
If you want the long snout, go read the comics.
