CAPTAIN AMERICA's Derek Luke Teases Return To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

But not necessarily as his Captain America: The First Avenger character, Gabe Jones! Hit the jump to listen to his cryptic comments for yourselves.

Talking to MTV News at the recent Spirit Awards, the actor remained cryptic when asked whether Captain America's arrival to the present day means we won't see the World War II character Gabe Jones in any future Marvel Studios movies. "It's amazing what happens when you walk through one door, it opens so many of them. So what I'll say is so many doors are open right now for me on that level and I'm just excited."

Thankfully, the site didn't let him get away with such a vague answer and pushed him into explaining exactly what he meant by the above comment. "In the world of Marvel, you can be anybody at any time so what you see is not always what is. That's all I have to say. I'm saying the door is wide open," Luke said, refusing to add any more. "And I'm excited."

Wishful thinking on his part of has he reached a deal with Marvel Studios to return as a different character altogether?! His role in Captain America: The First Avenger was a fairly small one so they could probably get away with casting him as someone entirely different. On the other hand, perhaps this just backs up past rumours which indicated that Jones would appear either as an old man or in WWII flashbacks. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

I hope it is the same character... I don't like it when they reuse actors for different roles.

Black Panther. Or Nick Fury. It's blatantly obvious that NF is a codename given to certain agents

I'd love to see Black Panther join the Avengers. I think they teased it a bit in one of the Iron Man movies. They showed unusual activity on one of the monitors in the background when Stark was talking to Fury. I think there was an indicator on Africa. Also one in the middle of the ocean - could it be for Namor?!? I'd really like to see him but that might be a tough sell for casual movie goers.

Look at Idris Alba. He played Heimdall, and was also cast in Ghost Rider: SOV.

I think Derek Luke would be a great choice for Falcon.

I bet he comes back in modern day as either a relative to his TFA character, or he is Falcon and because he reminds Cap od his TFA character he trains him or something.

"be anybody at any time," too bad Bishop can't happen right now. Blade is back in Marvel's corner...or cloak to open up a cloak and dagger tv show.

It would set up the Falcon as a possible Avenger in the inevitable sequel. After Avengers makes 100 billion damn dollars I'm sure a sequel will get greenlit with a quickness.

@ BRandoM- I think you nailed it! I see him playing a skrull, or being a random trick used by Loki. Other than that, I see Black Panther all day for him...
