James McAvoy Has "No Idea" When Production On X-MEN: FIRST CLASS 2 Begins

The British actor reveals that he has no idea when production begins and comment on what he wants to see in the upcoming sequel as well as his chemistry with Michael "Magneto" Fassbender on the big screen.

Talking to Red Carpet News at yesterday's Jameson Empire Awards, James McAvoy has talked a little more about returning as Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class 2 and his chemistry (bromance?) with Michael Fassbender. However, despite recent rumours that production would begin on the sequel this Fall, the actor says he has "no idea" when he'll begin working on the highly anticipated follow up to the critically acclaimed 2011 hit.

On What He'd Like To See In The Upcoming Sequel:

"God knows. Hopefully more of that same in that we don't stick to the same sort of routine. You know? I think what was good about the first X-Men: First Class movie is that we messed with the dynamic that you usually get with X-Men movies. I think we need to keep doing that. We can't just fall into stride with the other stuff. So, maybe, hopefully more of that I think.

On His Chemistry With Co-Star Michael Fassbender:

"We had sex every morning and that helped make the chemistry. We just got on. We're friendly guys. We get each other and we agreed on a lot of stuff. We helped spar off each other every morning and come up with ideas. It's just fun to work with somebody who is as talented as him. Also, when you've got two generous actors as well, we're not trying to be selfish or steal scenes off each other. It was good."

On When He Starts Work On X-Men: First Class 2:

"No idea."

Can we stop getting updates on people that don't know when things are going to happen in every project? It's not news if it doesn't change anything we know

Why did they go to all the trouble to make a First Class movie when it did not even have the Original X-Men in it like the comic book...

Because the public or the director doesnt give a [frick] if the original five are in it or not so stop repeating that tired old argument

@thewonderer
It was a joke, get over it

For the sequel, use Onslaught as the villain. Xavier tries to mentally mess with Magneto's mind & their two minds clash. Between Xavier's subconscious anger at Magneto for taking away his ability to walk & Magneto's growing dark side, Onslaught is created & the X-Men & the growing Brotherhood have to team up to take him down. It would tie in with an earlier interview where James said that a potential idea for a sequel could be Xavier's powers going out of control & what better way to do this but by having his dark side take over him plus it could continue to look at the evolution between Xavier & Magneto's growing friendship/rivalry

But also give some of the X-Men better character development this time around & introduce Polaris as a love interest for Havok, get (the proper) Psylocke in there too. And have the current movie X-Men & a couple of other members be the X-Men for the First Class trilogy. Then towards the end of the current trilogy, introduce the rest of the original five & set them up to be the team for another trilogy set in the 80s and 90s

Why does everyone on here want to see a new bad guy? We have not see a full on big battle with the Brotherhood and x-men yet...don't you think we should see that first?

This where I want to see a sequel go

It opens on the last parade of Kennedy as Kennedys care approaches Lee Harvey oswald set his sights on....Magneto standing watching on the grassy knowl, you know what happens next. Magneto directs the bullet A nation mourns and magneto has his vengeance on the men who where issuing orders

Its its july 1964 Xavier and the X-men receive reports from Moira suggesting Magneto is implicated in the assassinations of Kennedy and key soviet officials track Erik down in July -in Saigon he is recruiting Vietcong mutants for his new brotherhood.
The X-men catch up with him and amongst the backdrop of the Vietnam war the two mutant groups fight.
Magneto wants to kill William Stryker (this serves as a basis for their relationship in X2)
Their could be an opportunity for a wolverine cameo as Logan is in the army at this point.

How anyone can even want a sequel after that disaster pisses me off. Yeah it was agood movie, but it was a TERRIBLE X-Men film. It got almost every character (accept for Magneto) completely wrong and didn't even mae sense within the x-Men movie timeline. Let it get scrapped PLEASE

I would definitely like to see a Vietnam sequence in this movie. Show a mutant taking on the VC and NVA? Freaking awesome.
